A charging cable including a rectifier, a first connector element, and a second connector element. The first connector element is designed for connection to a vehicle-external energy source and the second connector element is designed for connection to a charging socket of a motor vehicle with an electrical traction energy accumulator. An alternating current supplied at the first connector element is convertible by the rectifier into a direct current deliverable at the second connector element. The first connector element is detachably fastened on the charging cable via an interface of the charging cable.

Charging cable

A charging connection for a motor vehicle for connecting the motor vehicle to a connection element of a motor vehicle-side charging device in order to charge a motor vehicle-side energy storage device by the charging device. The charging device is provided with at least one current line for a current contact which is connected to the charging current, and with at least one signal line for communication between the motor vehicle and the signal contact connected to the charging device. The charging device is provided with a switching device which disconnects the signal contact from the signal line upon an actuation of the switching device.

A method for preparing the supply of electrical power to a vehicle having a supply device from a supply apparatus providing at least a supply voltage, wherein the vehicle and the supply apparatus are separate from one another and releasably electrically connectable to one another by a plug contact disposed in a line between the supply device of the vehicle and the supply apparatus. While preparing the supply of electrical power and after the supply device of the vehicle has been electrically connected to the supply apparatus connected by way of the plug contact, a specific voltage identifying the voltage class of the vehicle is determined. The supply apparatus reports back the determined voltage class to the supply device of the vehicle via a power line communication.

A method for recognizing an over-temperature in a region of a charging socket of a motor vehicle without a temperature sensor. A temperature value is detected by means of a temperature sensor at an installation location of the temperature sensor that is different from the region. At least one configuration value of a current operating configuration in which the charging socket is operated is determined, and then a temperature reading for the region without the temperature sensor is generated by means of a characteristic map, which is designed for the purpose of including the temperature value and the at least one configuration value as input variables and of assigning the temperature reading to these input variables.

Motor vehicle charging socket having overheating protection

A diagnostic device for checking a control signal wire between a controller of a motor vehicle and a charging port for a battery of the motor vehicle located on the motor vehicle side is disclosed, wherein on the charging port side, a first resistor is provided in the controller connecting the control signal wire to chassis ground, and a second resistor connected in parallel to the first resistor is provided. An evaluation device of the controller has a current source and/or a voltage source for supplying an electric current and/or a voltage independent of a charging process, and is configured to measure an electric current indicating a defect in the control signal wire, or a voltage indicating a defect in the control signal wire, utilizing the first and the second resistor.

A method for operating a charging device of an electrical energy store for a motor vehicle, wherein a dedicated rectifier device for generating a charging voltage for the electrical energy store is associated with each phase of an AC power supply, includes determining for each rectifier device a usage variable descriptive of its prior usage for charging the electrical energy store; when performing a multi-phase charging operation with the charging device, using for each phase a corresponding rectifier device for generating the charging voltage for the electrical energy store; and when performing a single-phase charging operation with the charging device, using the hitherto most underused rectifier device for generating the charging voltage for the electrical energy store based on the usage variable.

Method for operating a charging device for single-phase and multi-phase charging of an energy store in a motor vehicle and charging device

A diagnostic device for checking a control signal line between a control device of a motor vehicle and a motor-vehicle-side charging connection for a battery of the motor vehicle, includes a first resistor disposed at the charging connection and connecting the control signal line to ground, a second resistor connected in parallel with first resistor to form a parallel circuit, an evaluation device associated with the control device and comprising a current source and/or a voltage source for supplying a corresponding current or voltage outside a charging operation, and a diode connected in series with the first and second resistors and blocking a current flow from ground to the control signal line. The evaluation device is configured to measure, by using the first and second resistor, a current indicating a control signal line defect or a voltage indicating a control signal line defect.

A circuit for controlling an inductive load, e.g. of a fuel injection valve, includes supply terminals for supplying a voltage, output terminals for connecting the load, and a detection device which is connected to at least one of the output terminals and is used for detecting the point in time at which the operation of the load is discontinued and/or detecting at least one fault case during a non-operational phase of the load. In order to render the detection process more reliable while using less circuitry, the detection device encompasses a current mirror with a first current source and a second current source. The current first is connected to one of the two output terminals during a detection phase. The current supplied by the second current source is evaluated as a signal of the detected result.
