A method includes maintaining images and associated video streams; detecting a swipe gesture of a user on a touch sensitive display, wherein the swipe gesture comprises direction and speed information; and selecting an image based on the direction information of the swipe gesture. The method includes adjusting a playback of an associated video stream based on the direction and the speed information of the swipe gesture; providing the associated video stream on the display during the swipe gesture, for creating a motion effect relating to the image; and providing the image on the display after the swipe gesture.

Method and apparatus for creating motion effect for image

There is disclosed means for in a communications device enabling an indirect communications channel between the communications device and at least one further communications device. A data service selected from a set of data services is associated with an identity code. The identity code identifies the communications device. Data related to the identity code is transmitted to a server. The data is preferably transmitted through a radio-frequency based communications interface. The identity code is broadcasting during a predetermined period of time and intended to be received by the at least one further communications device. The broadcast is preferably transmitted through a short-range non-radio frequency based communications interface.

The present invention relates to communications systems, and more particularly to enabling one communications device to access data, such as a set of multimedia objects, accessible by another communications device. Identity code information is communicated between the communications devices and the server, wherein a representation of the identity code is communicated from one of the communications devices to the other of the communications devices and then to the server. Method relating to digital images

According to one aspect of the present inventive concept there is provided a method for forming images, comprising: providing a plurality of images, each image including a first image part and a second image part, and each image depicting a respective partial view, wherein there is an overlap between partial views depicted in pairs of consecutive images, forming a first combined image from said first image parts, which first combined image depicts a first continuous view, and forming a second combined image from said second image parts, which second combined image depicts a second continuous view, wherein the first and the second continuous views overlap.

Method of providing an adjusted digital image representation of a view, and an apparatus

There is disclosed a method for seamlessly replacing areas in a digital image with corresponding data from temporally close digital images depicting substantially the same scene. The method uses localized image registration error minimization over a fixed preliminary boundary. A least cost closed path which constitutes a boundary for the area to be replaced is calculated using dynamic programming. The replacement area is blended such that image data information from one image is seamlessly replaced with image data information from another image.

The method comprises analyzing a view depicted by the digital camera and determining, based on the analysis, a subset of configurations of the digital camera. There is disclosed means for uploading/downloading images to/from a remote server and for viewing the same. The uploading/downloading of the images to/from the remote server is parallel instead of serial. This means that the images, instead of being transferred as a sequential stream of bytes, instead are arranged in scans of image data in such a way that the uploaded/downloaded images can be browsed early albeit at a lower quality than if the entire image data is considered. As in the serial case, it is possible to interrupt the uploading/downloading process at any time, and still browse the received image data. Likewise it is possible to re-start the uploading/downloading process in the future.

There is provided a method and a device for encoding a digital representation of an image into a single encoded image, comprising: generating at least two subsequent image data sequences each representing a portion of the digital representation of the image, inputting to an encoder () each of said subsequent image data sequences as if each image data sequence is an individual digital representations of an image, encoding each subsequent image data sequence into a variable length coded image, thereby generating at least two variable length coded images each representing a portion of the single encoded image, inserting a restart marker as terminating data of at least one of the variable length coded images, inserting an end of image marker as terminating data of one of the variable length coded images representing a final portion of the single encoded image, and associating the variable length coded images with each other by arranging them as subsequent parts of a single encoded data sequence representing the single encoded image.

The present invention relates to a method for browsing images and an Image browser. The browsing is performed on a display of an electronic device having an image cache and includes the acts of determining an image, from accessible images not already stored in the image cache, being more likely to be displayed during the browsing than one image already stored in the image cache, storing the determined image in the image cache, shifting images presented on the display in response to a user input and at an image shifting rate of S. Said shifting images includes reading image data from the image cache and present the image on the display. The image shifting rate S is frequently updated and is proportional to the present number of images in the image cache that are likely kept for browsing.

Method and apparatus for browsing images

A method for varying a view of a digital image to be sent to a display. The method comprises retrieving image data representing a first area of the digital image from a reduced size, in regard of number of pixels, representation of the digital image, sending the retrieved image data representing the first area to the display, receiving a user input signal requesting a second area to be sent to the display, retrieving image data representing the second area of the digital image from the reduced size representation of the digital image, and sending the retrieved image data representing the second area to the display.

Method for processing a digital image

There is provided a method for compressing images and an image format. The method comprises performing a transform on pixel portions of image data and evaluating resulting coefficients from each transform in terms of a flatness condition. If the transform is found to be flat then the result from the transform is quantized according to a first quantizing scheme. If the transform is found not to be flat then the result from the transform is quantized according to a second quantizing scheme being different from the first quantizing scheme. Different block arranging schemes are proposed for the quantizing schemes. An indicator is stored in the block indicating that the image block is flat or not flat. The resulting bits are written into a compression data structure.
