Technologies for facilitating vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications includes an on-board vehicle control system of an autonomous vehicle configured to identify one or more autonomous vehicles with which to communicate and transmit a communication frame usable to indicate that the autonomous vehicle intends to join a cluster of autonomous vehicles defined by the one or more autonomous vehicles. The communication frame includes a structure having a contention channel, a control channel, and a data channel, which are used to communicate requests, intentions, and/or data.

Technologies for vehicle-to-vehicle communications for autonomous vehicles

A Reed-Solomon encoder that supports multiple code words is provided. The encoder circuit may include partial syndrome calculation circuitry, three matrix multiplication circuits, and two adder circuits. The partial syndrome calculation circuitry may receive a message and generate partial syndromes. The first matrix multiplication circuit may multiply a lower portion of the partial syndromes by a small Lagrange matrix to produce a small parity symbol vector. The second matrix multiplication circuit may multiply the small parity symbol vector by a Vandermonde matrix to produce a product vector. The first adder circuit may add the product vector to an upper portion of the partial syndromes to produce a sum vector. The third matrix multiplication circuit may multiply the sum vector by a large Lagrange matrix to produce a large product vector. The large product vector may be selectively combined with the small parity symbol vector to generate final parity check symbols.

Methods and apparatus for performing variable and breakout Reed Solomon encoding

The present embodiments relate to Reed-Solomon encoding, and to circuitry for performing such encoding, particularly in an integrated circuit. A Reed-Solomon encoder circuit may receive a message with data symbols and compute a partial syndrome vector by multiplying the data symbols with a first matrix. The Reed-Solomon encoder circuit may further compute parity check symbols by solving a system of linear equations that includes the partial syndrome vector and a second matrix. As an example, the second matrix may be decomposed into a lower triangular matrix and an upper triangular matrix, and the parity check symbols may be computed by performing a forward substitution and a backward substitution using the lower and upper triangular matrices. The Reed-Solomon encoder circuit may generate a Reed-Solomon code word by combining the data symbols and the parity check symbols, and provide the Reed-Solomon code word at an output port.

Methods and apparatus for performing reed-solomon encoding

An integrated circuit may include a Reed-Solomon decoder that receives a transmitted code word and an associated bit mask and that generates a corresponding corrected message. The bit mask indicates an erasure pattern for the received code word. The Reed-Solomon decoder may include a syndrome generator, a multiplication circuit, a read-only memory (ROM) circuit, an address compressor, and an aggregation circuit. The syndrome generator may receive the transmitted code word and generate a corresponding syndrome. The address compressor may receive the bit mask and generate a corresponding unique address for accessing the ROM circuit. The ROM circuit may then output an inverse parity matrix based on the unique address. The multiplication circuit may multiply the syndrome by the retrieved inverse parity matrix to output corrected symbols. The aggregation circuit may then path the received code word with the corrected symbols to obtain the corrected message.

Syndrome-based Reed-Solomon erasure decoding circuitry

A memory refreshing circuit implemented on an integrated circuit comprising a memory circuit that stores original data and an algorithmic data generation circuit that generates write addresses and correct data such that the correct data is stored in the memory circuit at locations that are indicated by the write addresses to correct errors in the original data by overwriting the original data with the correct data during a random access mode of operation of the memory circuit.

Systems and methods for refreshing data in memory circuits

A transmitter for an optical telecommunication system on a weakly multimode fiber is disclosed. One aspect is a transmitter including an encoder transforming each block of symbols to be transmitted into a code matrix, each element of the matrix being relative to a time of use and to a propagation mode of the weakly multimode fiber. The transmitter can include a plurality of modulators respectively associated with the different propagation modes, each modulator modulating a laser beam during a time of use. Each modulator can modulate a laser beam by use of an element of the corresponding matrix, the elements of the matrix of the code being subjected beforehand to an OFDM modulation upstream of said modulators. Each of the modulated beams can be input into the weakly multimode fiber to propagate therein according to a separate mode.

System for transmission over a multi-mode and/or multi-core optical fiber

A transmitter and a receiver for an optical telecommunication system of the WDM type are disclosed. In one aspect, the transmitter uses a chromato-temporal encoder which, with each block of symbols to be transmitted, associates a code matrix, where each element of the matrix corresponds to a wavelength and a use of the channel. The transmitter includes multiple modulators, where each modulator modulates a laser beam at a wavelength during a use of the channel by an element corresponding to the code matrix. The beams modulated in this manner are multiplexed in an optical fiber. Another embodiment using both a wavelength and a polarization encoding is also proposed.

Method and system for WDM transmission with chromato-temporal encoding

A method and apparatus are provided for modulating a binary source sequence including of a plurality of source words to generate modulated symbols. The method implements error-correction encoding of the plurality of source words, implementing one or more encoding modules, each implementing a separate error-correction code to generate a plurality of code words, the source words being encoded in series. The code words are interlaced to generate an interlaced sequence. The interlaced sequence is differentially modulated to generate modulated symbols. Each code word is broken down into at least one group with a number of bits equal to the base-2 logarithm of a number of states of a modulation implemented by the step of differentially modulating. The interlacing step distributes the groups such that two adjacent groups in the interlaced sequence belong to separate code words.
