The first door is moveable between a first open position and a first closed position. An aisle extends between the vehicle control area and a passenger seating area. A forward section of the aisle is disposed between a first monument and a second monument. A second door is disposed within the aisle between the first monument and the second monument. The second door is moveable between a second open position and a second closed position. A privacy vestibule is defined between the second door in the second closed position, the first monument, the second monument, and the vehicle control area.

A privacy door assembly for installation in an aircraft relative to a flight deck door of the aircraft includes a door frame having a first post and a second post, where the second post comprises a latch recess. The privacy door comprises a latch positioned on an edge of the privacy door and arranged to engage the latch recess when the privacy door is in a closed position within the door frame. An access door is positioned in the privacy door, where the access door is rotatable from a closed position to an open position in a forward direction. A first mechanical door handle system including a mechanical combination lock is positioned on an aft side of the privacy door and coupled to the latch, and a second mechanical door handle system is positioned on a forward side of the privacy door and coupled to the latch.

Disclosed are methods for arranging passenger seats and passenger service units in aircraft cabins as well as locating devices used in these methods. These methods and devices provide fast and efficient ways for directly referencing the position of each passenger service unit relative to a corresponding passenger seat. For example, a passenger seat is positioned on a seat rail using rail markers. Each set of markers corresponds to a different seating configuration. A locating device is then placed on the passenger seat such that the device datum contacts the seat cushion. A locator of the locating device determines a reference, in an overhead compartment, for installing a passenger service unit, corresponding to this seat. The reference is based on an angle between the datum and the locator, which is adjustable in some examples.

Methods for arranging passenger seats and passenger service units in aircraft cabins

A seating system for a vehicle that comprises floor beams, which support floor panels that define a floor surface. The vehicle has a virtual longitudinal plane, perpendicular to the floor surface, and a virtual longitudinal axis, parallel to the floor surface and lying in the virtual longitudinal plane. The privacy door assembly also includes a privacy door rotatably coupleable to the first post via a set of hinges, where the privacy door comprises a decompression latch arranged to engage the latch recess when the privacy door is in a closed position within the door frame, and where the decompression latch is configured to disengage from the latch recess in response to a decompression detected on a forward side of the privacy door.

Provided is a seating-system kit for a vehicle that comprises floor beams, a primary pair of seat tracks, attached to the floor beams, and a first seat assembly, comprising a first seat support and a first plurality of seats, attached to the first seat support. The first seat support is attached to the primary pair of seat tracks and the floor beams support floor panels that define a floor surface. The vehicle has a virtual longitudinal plane, perpendicular to the floor surface, and a virtual longitudinal axis, parallel to the floor surface and lying in the virtual longitudinal plane. A method of configuring a seating system of a vehicle that comprises floor beams, comprises attaching a secondary pair of seat tracks to the floor beams of the vehicle such that one of the secondary pair of seat tracks is positioned between seat tracks of a primary pair of seat tracks of the seating system. Only one seat track of the secondary pair of seat tracks is positioned between seat tracks of the primary pair of seat tracks along an entire length of the secondary pair of seat tracks.

The mat includes a tray having a floor, a perimetric wall, and groups or clumps of bristles arranged to incline at an acute angle to the surface of the wheel, perpendicularly to the direction of travel of the wheel. Rows of bristles incline in generally opposing directions. The bristles are anchored to bristle supporting tracks which lie on the floor. Low walls surround and separate the clumps of bristles. The mat may be used as modules in an array. The array may include ramps configured to elevate the wheels above the floor of the tray. The array may include supports for holding the bristles above the tray for cleaning of the tray.

Modularized insulation blanket for thermal and/or acoustical insulation. The modularized insulation blanket has a cover formed of a distal layer and proximal layer in sealed mated relationship. The distal and proximal layers are sealed along longitudinal and latitudinal heat-sealed seams that define a plurality of modules. The heat-sealed seam may be creased so as to be foldable and/or perforated to provide a tear line. Within the modules are batting blocks. The blankets may be attached to surface structures such as the interior skin surface of an aircraft fuselage, pipes or other structures with retention systems. The blankets may be formed in an apparatus including a platen, heat seal rollers or heating sealing mechanisms, and edge sealers.

An electromechanical flight deck door locking system capable of functioning to keep a cockpit door locked in the event of an interruption in electrical power to the system. The flight deck door locking system includes a locking assembly including a locking component and a manually graspable handle for displacing the locking component. Further, the locking system includes an electronic control panel configured to receive data from an individual seeking access to the cockpit and for electrically locking and unlocking the locking assembly. The locking system also includes a mechanical locking assembly, such as a key lock, whereby a user can use a key to lock and unlock the door if electrical power to the system is unavailable.

Integrated cockpit door lock and access system

A ballistic resistant flight deck door assembly for an aircraft is disclosed that also enables pressure equalization within the aircraft in the event of a sudden loss of cabin pressure within the flight deck or cabin. The door assembly includes a door having a plurality of spaced apart panels of ballistic material and a honeycomb support panel. A ventilation area is formed in the door by a plurality of apertures in each of the ballistic panels that are arranged such that no two apertures of the two ballistic panels are perfectly aligned with each other. The blowout panel and ventilation area therefore allows airflow through the door to help equalize pressure within the flight deck in the event of a loss of depressurization of the flight deck without compromising the door's ability to provide ballistic protection for the occupants in the flight deck.
