Vitamin E compositions, methods of making such compositions and therapeutic uses of vitamin E compositions are disclosed. Compositions of matter comprising a tocotrienol making up at least 15 dry basis weight percent of the composition of matter and a constituent selected from a triglyceride and a triglyceride ester, wherein upon mixing of the composition of matter with water the tocotrienol based composition is substantially emulsified; and wherein upon mixing of the composition of matter with water a resulting emulsion has an intensity-weighed mean droplet size of less than 700 nm are also disclosed.

Tocotrienol compositions

Compositions containing tocotrienol, non-tocotrienol lipids and surface active agents; compositions containing particles having a statin and a tocotrienol wherein the particle size is less than 1000 nm; and microemulsions containing a statin and a tocotrienol are disclosed. Methods relating to the creation of such compositions and the use of such compositions are further disclosed.

A eutectic-based self-nanoemulsified drug delivery system (SNEDDS) is formulated from polyoxyl 35 castor oil (Cremophor), medium chain mono- and diglycerides (capmul), essential oils, and a pharmacologically effective drug. The preferred pharmacologically effective drug is a poorly water soluble drug, such as ubiquinone (CoQ). The SNEDDS can be further incorporated into a powder to produce a solid dosage form. The solid dosage form contains the SNEDDS, a copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate (Kollidon VA 64), maltodextrin, and microcrystalline cellulose (MCC).
