Provided is a spring drive cam for a spring drive of a circuit breaker including a disc-like shape configured for rotating around a rotation axis in the spring drive, whereby the disc-like shape comprises a radius (R) that changes depending on an angle (&#x3b1;) of the radius (R) relative to a base angle (&#x3b1;), and whereby a rate (dR/d&#x3b1;) defined by a change of the radius (R) per change of the angle (&#x3b1;) is &#x2264;0.3 mm/&#xb0;.

Spring drive cam for a spring drive of a circuit breaker

The invention relates to a circuit breaker comprising a first and a second contact assembly, wherein one of the contact assemblies comprises contact fingers arranged in a finger cage configuration and the other contact assembly comprises a tube or rod contact. The contact fingers comprise an impact point where the tube or rod impacts the contact fingers for the first time during electrical connection establishment, and a contact zone which contacts the tube or rod when the electrical connection is established. The contact zone comprises two contact points separated from one another and arranged on a line which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

Circuit breaker

A contact arrangement has a longitudinal axis and includes a first contact group with a first contact and a second contact and a second contact group with a third contact and a fourth contact. The first contact interacts electrically and mechanically with the third contact, and/or the second contact interacts electrically and mechanically with the fourth contact, for closing and opening the contact arrangement. At least one mechanical coupling is provided for transmitting an actuation force to the second contact group and thereby moving the second contact group. The at least one mechanical coupling is adapted to move the third and the fourth contact in such a way that their speeds differ along at least a portion of a travel path of the third contact or along at least a portion of a travel path of the fourth contact.

Electrical switching device with a triple motion contact arrangement

An electrical switching device including at least a nominal contact arrangement, the nominal contact arrangement at least a first nominal contact with a plurality of nominal contact fingers forming a finger cage concentric with respect to a longitudinal axis (z), and at least a mating second nominal contact. An arcing contact arrangement including a first arcing contact and a mating second arcing contact. An arcing contact finger including at its free end a first impact area in which a first contacting to the second arcing contact occurs when closing, the electrical switching device. The first impact area is formed by a first planar surface arranged at an inclination angle (&#x3b1;) larger than zero degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis (z).

Contact system

A circuit breaker including an ejection device with a compartment, in which an arc-extinction medium for improving circuit breaker operation is contained, and having an ejection orifice through which the arc-extinction medium is to be ejected, wherein the ejection orifice opens out into an injection zone of the circuit breaker in which the pressure is lower than in an arcing zone when an arc is present, and wherein the arc-extinction medium and/or exhaust-cooling medium is at least partially present in liquid form, when it is contained in the ejection device.

Circuit breaker with fluid injection

A circuit breaker including an ejection device including an arc-extinction medium for improved extinction of an arc formed during a breaker operation and an exhaust-cooling medium for improved cooling of exhaust gases in the circuit breaker. Thereby, the arc-extinction liquid includes an organofluorine compound having a boiling point Tat 1 bar higher than &#x2212;60&#xb0; C. and being selected from the group of: a fluoroether; a fluoroamine; a fluoroketone; and mixtures thereof.

A high-voltage circuit breaker has an interrupter unit, a closing resistor and a switch which is connected in series with the closing resistor. The interrupter unit has a driven first interrupter contact which can move along an axis and interacts with a second interrupter contact, which is arranged on the axis in order to open and close the high-voltage circuit breaker. The switch has a switching contact which can rotate about a rotation shaft (D) and whose rotary movement is coupled by of a link control to the movement along the axis (A) of the first interrupter contact.
