Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for identifying a spanning tree loop in a network environment. Spanning tree loop indicators occurring in a network environment that utilizes a spanning tree protocol are identified. The spanning tree loop indicators are correlated to identify correlated spanning tree loop indicators within the network environment. A potential spanning tree loop is recognized from a plurality of the correlated spanning tree loop indicators based on indicator types of the correlated spanning tree loop indicators. The potential spanning tree loop is remedied in the network environment in response to recognizing the potential spanning tree loop in the network environment.

Method and apparatus for automated spanning-tree loop detection in networks

The present technology is directed to providing a 3-D visualization of a Wi-Fi signal propagation pattern based on telemetry data. The present technology can receive telemetry data for a Wi-Fi access point located at a location of a building plan in a Wi-Fi visualization system, store the telemetry data with a timestamp, determine a change in a Wi-Fi coverage for the Wi-Fi access point based on the telemetry data, and present a visualization illustrating the change in the Wi-Fi coverage for the Wi-Fi access point. The present technology can further present an animation of the change in the Wi-Fi coverage for the Wi-Fi access point based on the stored telemetry data.

Three-dimensional visualization of Wi-Fi signal propagation based on telemetry data

The present technology is directed to visualizing a Wi-Fi access point (AP) signal propagation pattern through multiple floors. The present technology can execute a Wi-Fi signal propagation model corresponding to a first AP on a first floor of a building plan and a second AP on a second floor of the building plan. The Wi-Fi signal propagation model calculates a Wi-Fi signal propagation pattern for a plurality of APs including the first AP and the second AP. The present technology can further present a visualization of the Wi-Fi signal propagation pattern for the plurality of APs, wherein the Wi-Fi signal propagation pattern for the first AP on the first floor of the building plan projects onto the second floor of the building plan.

Three-dimensional visualization of Wi-Fi signal propagation through multiple floors

The present disclosure is directed to 3-D visualization of wireless signal propagation representing wireless signal strength and interference in 3-D space. The present technology can identify a plurality of access points (APs) in the 3-D space, determine a wireless signal strength for each of the plurality of APs, and determine an interference with the wireless signal strength of each of the plurality of APs, wherein the interference is caused by a neighboring AP of the plurality of APs in the 3-D space. The present technology can further present a 3-D visualization of a wireless signal propagation pattern representing the wireless signal strength from each of the plurality of APs in the 3-D space and the interference from the neighboring AP.

Simulation of Wi-Fi signal propagation in three-dimensional visualization

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for generating and presenting workflow graphs can include the following operations. A workflow graph including vertices is provided. An event is received to reorganize the vertices of the workflow graph. Each of the vertices is classified with a significance level, the significance level is based on at least one of a business rule and a vertex position of a vertex of the vertices. Vertices of the vertices having a low significance level are grouped together. The vertices in the group having the low significance level are combined into a new vertex, and the new vertex is expandable and collapsible to view the vertices in the group having the low significance level.

Reducing complexity of workflow graphs through vertex grouping and contraction

The present technology includes calculating the 3-D RF propagation pattern in a space for at least one Wi-Fi access point and displaying a visualization of the RF propagation pattern in augmented reality (AR). The augmented reality view of the space can be created by capturing at least one image of the space and displaying at least one image of the space on a display with the visualization of the Wi-Fi access point RF propagation pattern on the display overlaid at least one image of the space. The disclosed technology further can calculate the RF propagation properties and render a visualization of the RF propagation patterns in a 3D space by utilizing hardware on a user device. The AR display is useful in visualizing, in-person aspects of a Wi-Fi network and coverage, and can be used in troubleshooting, maintenance, and simulations of equipment variations.

Augmented reality wireless planning and troubleshooting

Present technology is directed to preferred processing and the verification of diagnostic signatures for a plurality of network defect. The disclosed optimization process is based on expressing each Diagnostic Signature as a minimal sum of product Boolean function of associated network commands, followed by ranking of each command reference in the product terms of the Boolean expression as well as each Boolean product terms of the SOP Boolean expressions, and constructing a decision tree based on the provided rankings to thereby determine a minimum set of commands along with an preferred command dispatch sequence for evaluating a Diagnostic Signature. Further aspects include the translation of both the optimization computation (interpretation of network conditions associated with a network defect) and the computed workflow (dispatch of the command) into a series of declarative rules that can be processed by a machine reasoning engine to thereby automate the optimization process.

Optimized detection of network defect exposure in network environment

The present technology addresses a need in the art for a closed-loop automation system of a managed network that detects and fixes an issue in the managed network with minimal to no human intervention. The closed-loop automation system employs a domain-independent semantic machine reasoning engine as an underlying engine. After detecting the issue in the managed network, the system searches through a knowledge base to find a match for the detected issue. The knowledge base includes previously collected knowledge from subject matter experts and maintenance teams. The system then proposes a remedial action to a user of the managed network for approval. After approval by the user, the system implements the remedial action.

Closed-loop automation of a managed network

The present technology addresses a need in the art for an automated tool that allows users to create network-based custom workflows for networks and associated management applications. The users do not need to have in-depth network knowledge to work with the tool or even write any code/script. The tool provides the users with a flexible graphical user interface for automated troubleshooting, network provisioning, and closed-loop automation. Further, the tool uses a domain-independent semantic machine reasoning engine as an underlying engine and a mock data engine to test and validate network-based workflows created by the users.

Advanced workflow based self-serve automation system

In one embodiment, an exploratory linktrace is initiated from an initiating network device with an exploratory linktrace message (ELM) having a target address. Each network device receiving the ELM may then propagate the ELM on a plurality of its ports to a plurality of downstream network devices based on the target address. In addition, each receiving network device returns an exploratory linktrace reply (ELR) for each of the plurality of ports, where each ELR is returned according to one or more mechanisms to mitigate stormed replies to the initiating network device.

Exploratory linktrace operations in a computer network

In one embodiment, a method includes processing network data models at a network device operating in a network comprising a plurality of network components, each of the network components associated with one of the network data models, performing semantic matching at the network device for at least two of the network data models, the semantic matching comprising computing labels for elements of the network data models utilizing label computation algorithms configured for notational conventions used in the network data models, computing contexts for the elements based on a hierarchy of each of the network data models, removing one or more of the labels used to form the contexts to create reduced contexts, and computing a semantic relationship for the reduced contexts of the network data models. The network data models are mapped at the network device based on the semantic matching for use in a network application. An apparatus and logic are also disclosed herein.

Method and apparatus for mapping network data models

An example method for facilitating conflict avoidant traffic routing in a network environment is provided and includes detecting, at a network element, an intent conflict at a peer network element in a network, and changing a forwarding decision at the network element to steer traffic around the conflicted peer network element. The intent conflict refers to an incompatibility between an asserted intent associated with the traffic and an implemented intent associated with the traffic. In specific embodiments, the detecting includes mounting rules from the peer network element into the network element, and analyzing the mounted rules to determine intent conflict. In some embodiments, a central controller in the network deploys one or more intentlets on a plurality of network elements in the network according to corresponding intent deployment parameters.
