Systems and methods include obtaining measurements from a Wi-Fi network that includes i) a plurality of access points interconnected to one another and at least one connected to a gateway, and ii) a plurality of Wi-Fi client devices that each connect to an access point of the plurality of access points; learning usage patterns in the Wi-Fi network through analysis with one or more machine learning algorithms; and providing a configuration to the Wi-Fi network based on the learned usage pattern where the configuration includes a topology of the plurality of access points.

Cloud-based control of a Wi-Fi network

A Wi-Fi network includes one or more access point devices configured to connect to one or more devices; wherein the Wi-Fi network is designated by a Service Set Identifier (SSID); wherein each Wi-Fi client device accesses the Wi-Fi network using the SSID and a key of a plurality of keys each being a password or certificate for the Wi-Fi network; and wherein each of the plurality of keys designates an access zone of a plurality of access zones each defining rules for network and/or device access such that the one or more access point devices provide selective access based on which of the plurality of keys is used for each of the one or more devices.

Systems and methods include obtaining measurements from a Wi-Fi network that includes one or more access points; determining a configuration of the Wi-Fi network based on the measurements, wherein the configuration includes one or more of i) steering a client device to associate with a specific access point of the one or more access points and ii) steering the client device to connect to a specific frequency band of the one or more access points; and providing the configuration to the Wi-Fi network for implementation thereof.

Systems and methods for setting up an access point in a Wi-Fi system, subsequent to booting up, determining whether the access point is a gateway node with a connection to a modem/router or a Wi-Fi node without a connection to the modem/router; connecting to a cloud configuration service when the access point is a gateway node for obtaining configuration parameters of the Wi-Fi system; and connecting to a predefined Service Set Identifier (SSID) when the access point is a Wi-Fi node for obtaining the configuration parameters from the gateway node.

Systems and methods for optimizing a distributed Wi-Fi network via a cloud based system using a plurality of control loops over multiple timescales include receiving and storing data measurements associated with operation of the distributed Wi-Fi network; performing one or more of: a fast loop optimization of operating parameters associated with the distributed Wi-Fi network based on one or more first metrics and associated first thresholds; and a slow loop optimization of the operating parameters associated with the distributed Wi-Fi network based on one or more second metrics and associated second thresholds, wherein a timescale of the fast loop optimization is finer than a timescale of the slow loop optimization; and providing the operating parameters to the distributed Wi-Fi network for configuration thereof.

Optimization on multiple timescales in a distributed Wi-Fi system

Systems and methods include a cloud controller communicatively coupled to one or more distributed Wi-Fi networks and configured to manage the one or more distributed Wi-Fi networks. The cloud controller includes a network interface communicatively coupled to the distributed Wi-Fi networks; one or more processors communicatively coupled to the network interface; and memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the one or more processors to: determine a new topology state for a topology of Wi-Fi network from a current topology state based on management of the Wi-Fi network; cause one or more nodes to change to new associated parent nodes based on the new topology state; cause an update to a configuration of the one or more nodes based on the new topology state; and continue to change additional nodes to new associated parent nodes based on the new topology state until the new topology state is obtained.
