One system includes an alarm system control panel, at least one first communication path for communicating information between the alarm system control panel and to both an alarm system monitoring station device and an alarm monitoring software application, the alarm monitoring software application communicating via at least one second communication path with the alarm system monitoring station device and a station alerting gateway device, and wherein the alarm monitoring software application communicates a data set including contextual information of a facility having an alarm event to both the alarm system monitoring station device and the station alerting gateway device.

One system includes an alarm system control panel, multiple first communication paths for communicating information between the alarm system control panel and to both an alarm system monitoring station device and a mobile device having an alarm monitoring software application thereon, the alarm monitoring software application communicating via one of a second multiple of communication paths with a first responder device, and the alarm system monitoring station device also communicating via a different communication path with the first responder device.

One fire alarm system, includes a gateway connected to a system control panel for allowing mobile device access to the system, a mobile device connected to the control panel, a fire alarm system control application on the mobile device, wherein the fire alarm control system application gains access to the control panel via the gateway, a search utility in the fire alarm control system application for identifying a particular fire alarm system device that is in a specific condition or location, and a database accessible via the fire alarm control system application wherein location and condition information about the plurality of fire alarm system devices is located, such that the search utility can search the database and identify the particular fire alarm system device from the other of the plurality of fire alarm system devices.

A shelving and package locating system for delivery vehicles includes one or more shelves for storing packages within a delivery vehicle during delivery. Each package is associated with both a geographic delivery address and an assigned location on a particular shelf within the delivery vehicle. A GPS unit determines the location of the delivery vehicle during delivery, and a computer provides the shelf location of a particular package when that package's delivery-location information substantially corresponds to vehicle location information. Several embodiments exist for registering the location of the package in the vehicle at load time, such as scanned location indicia, light sensors on shelves, pressure sensors on shelves, pressure sensors on the floor of the vehicle, and light spot. Several embodiments exist for locating the package in the vehicle at delivery time, such as a pick-to-light system that employs variable length lighting and a light pointer system that generates a light spot.
