Embodiments provide data in-flight (DIF) services to software applications such as virtual machines (VMs) at an application level without requiring modification to established storage protocols. In exemplary embodiments, a storage controller transmits an advertisement of one or more data in-flight (DIF) services supported by a storage container of the storage controller. One or more DIF services communication path is created with attributes corresponding to the DIF services supported by the storage container. The storage controller receives, over the DIF services communication path, tagged data that can include data transmitted by a virtual machine (VM) for storage in the storage container.

The disclosure provides an approach for processing frames of a virtualized desktop to improve accessibility for users, such as users with disabilities. The approach involves processing frames by an accessibility engine that is located on a client device of the user. The virtualized desktop runs on a virtual machine that is remote to the client device. The location of the accessibility engine on the client device allows advantages such as the ability to process frames that indicate a non-operational virtual machine.

A computer-implemented method for using a standalone tool for certificate management is provided. The standalone tool for certificate management is provided between a plurality of computing nodes and a management node. The standalone tool determines a certificate status for each of the plurality of computing nodes in the computing system. The standalone tool also determines any certificate operations for each of the plurality of computing nodes in the computing system. The certificate status and any of the certificate operations are presented in a consolidated view.

A virtualization platform can discover capabilities of data devices connected in a virtual infrastructure. The virtualization platform allows a user (e.g., system administrator) to specify a policy profile for a virtual machine in terms of performance and data handling parameters. The virtualization platform can provision a virtual machine comprising data devices having a combined capability that matches the policy profile. Enforcement of a policy profile can be made when I/O is performed by a virtual machine.

Embodiments perform capability discovery, policy management, and policy enforcement to provide data in-flight (DIF) services to virtual machines (VMs) without requiring modification to established storage protocols. The disclosed apparatus further include a workload selector to select an offering workload to lend resources to a needy workload, and a resource configurer. The resource configurer to cause a host included in the workload to spin a virtual machine or create a container, and assign the virtual machine or container to support the needy workload.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to synthesizing a virtual stereo device. Embodiments include receiving a request from a user to synthesize the virtual stereo device based on a first camera and a second camera associated with a client device. Embodiments include calibrating the virtual stereo device by using images received from the first camera and the second camera to determine calibration parameters. Embodiments include storing the calibration parameters in a manifest file and transmitting the manifest file to the client device. Embodiments include receiving encoded frames associated with the virtual stereo device from the client device, each of the encoded frames including a stereo image that has been created by the client device, based on the calibration parameters in the manifest file, from image data captured using the first camera and the second camera. Embodiments include decoding the encoded frames for use by an application involving stereo vision.

Memory management in a computer system may include allocating memory pages from a physical memory of the computer system to applications executing on the computer system. The memory pages may be associated with memory management tags. One or more memory pages may be identified for processing from the physical memory based on the memory management tags that the memory pages are associated with. The processed memory pages may then be designated as un-allocated memory pages for subsequent allocation to applications executing on the computing system.
