The present disclosure talks about an integrated boot for use with a connector. The connector is connected to an inner optical fibre cable. The integrated boot includes a boot part and an elf part. The elf part is integral to the boot part. The boot part holds the connector with the inner optical fibre cable. The boot part connects a first end of the inner optical fibre cable to the connector. The elf part is capable of engaging with a transport tube when the elf part is pushed into the transport tube. The inner optical fibre cable passes through the transport tube.

Integrated boot for a protected cable connector assembly

A converged enclosure is provided. The converged enclosure comprises a base panel, a housing coupled with the base panel and a plurality of ports housed on a front surface of the housing. The plurality of ports is arranged in a plurality of rows such that each row has one or more ports. The one or more ports in each of the plurality of rows is inclined at a predefined row angle (R, R, R, R) from a vertical base axis such that the predefined row angle of each of the plurality of rows is different. The plurality of ports is arranged in a plurality of columns such that each column has one or more ports. Converged enclosure

The invention relates to a splice protection device for spliced optical fibers and to a method particularly for providing an access point to an optical fiber cable in a dwelling unit of a multi dwelling unit. To facilitate mounting of a splice protection device, the splice protection device according to the invention comprises a first and a second tube, the second tube being arranged concentrically and slidable within the first tube, the first and second tubes being adapted to receive at least one spliced fiber. The present invention furthermore relates to a method for providing an access point to a provider optical cable in a dwelling unit of a multi-dwelling unit. The inventive method avoids splicing work within the dwelling unit and is characterized by the steps of branching-off at least one branching optical fiber of the provider cable at a branch point adjacent to said dwelling unit, passing a preassembled connector cable being provided with a connector through duct work for cable to the branch point and splicing the branching optical fiber with an optical fiber of the connector cable.

Splice protection device for optical splices

An optical fiber coupling device and a method are disclosed. The optical fiber coupling device includes a first patch strip having a first plurality of optical fiber connectors arranged along a face of the first patch strip and a second patch strip having a second plurality of optical fiber connectors arranged along a face of the second patch strip. The first and second patch strips are in a stacked arrangement where the second plurality of optical fiber connectors is offset from the first plurality of optical fiber connectors in a first and a second direction transverse to a stacking direction. The offsetting improves access to the individual optical fiber connectors which assists an operative when managing or maintaining optical fiber connections and helps to reduce the likelihood of fatigue or failure since adjacent optical fiber connections are undisturbed during this process and the optical fiber connections may be easily accessed without needing to move or manipulate adjacent patch strips.

Optical fibre connection device

An assembly for sealingly enclosing a space into which one or more optical fibres and/or optical cables is or are fed includes a container defining the space and a sealing member. The container has an opening therein. The sealing member sealingly encloses the one or more optical fibres and/or optical cables positionable distinctly and separately from the container. The sealing member: (a) can be placed in the opening so that the one or more optical fibres and/or optical cables extend through the opening into the container, and (b) can be heat and/or pressure sealed to the container to seal the opening around the one or more optical fibres and/or optical cables.

A method is provided for sealing a container into which optical fibers are fed. A portion of the optical fibers is accommodated between two strips which are sealed together by applying heat and/or pressure. The strips are then placed in an opening of the container and the container is sealed. The strips, which may be made of plastic, support the fibers while providing an excellent seal.

A termination device () for cables () having at least one flexible strength member () comprises a retention member () for retaining the strength member and a base member () for accommodating the retention member (). The base member () is provided with clamping means () which prevent any longitudinal movement of the retention member (). In addition, the clamping means () exert pressure on the retention member accommodated in the base member so as to be able to clamp the strength member () between the clamping means and at least one surface () of the retention member.

Detent devices for optical fibre members have an outer casing member with a tapered aperture in which an inner engagement member is slidably fitted. A strength member of the optical fibre member received in the inner engagement member can be wrapped back around a boss of the inner engagement member and is clamped by the slidable engagement member when the optical fibre member is pulled. Thus axial strain relief is provided.

Detent for optical fibres

Break-out devices are provided for longitudinally extending elements. The break-out devices include a base member and a pair of ribs extending from the base member that define a longitudinally extending channel configured to receive the longitudinally extending elements therebetween. The inner sides of each of the pair of the ribs may include one or more longitudinally extending slots defining pairs of slots. A removable partition is inserted into the channel to provide a through-hole dimensioned to receive one or more of the longitudinally extending elements. The removable partition may be inserted in one of the pairs of slots. The partition may include a locking mechanism that retains the partition in the channel. Methods for organizing optical fiber elements using such break-out devices are also provided.
