A hydraulic lock apparatus includes a hydraulic actuator, a pressure storage device connected to the hydraulic actuator, and a control valve configured to actuate to a first position and a second position. The control valve fluidly isolates the pressure storage device from the hydraulic actuator when the control valve is in the first position. The control valve fluidly connects the pressure storage device to the hydraulic actuator when the control valve is in the second position.

Self contained hydraulic lock apparatus

A hydroelectric turbine generator and control system is provided that optimizes the maximum possible power output at all times by strictly monitoring power output from the generator unit and modulating the wicket gate angle and the runner blade pitch independently of one another. The hydroelectric turbine generator includes a means for separately controlling wicket gate angle and runner blade pitch. The wicket gate angle control mechanism controls the flow into the system, pre conditions flow for maximum power and maintains reservoir level. The runner blade pitch control mechanism continuously monitors the system power output based on actual power produced, and adjusts system parameters in order to achieve maximum power output.

Hydro turbine generator

The present invention provides an improved method and apparatus for manufacturing elastic hair fasteners that eliminate the need for a metal clamp in the fastener assembly. The apparatus of the present invention that employs the inventive process is an incremental, automatic system that utilizes intricate mechanisms that are pneumatically actuated and controlled electrically. The machine feeds textile feedstock from a bulk supply along a feed track to a predefined staging position. Once the feedstock has reached this position, it is cut into an extension having a predetermined length and a pair of opposed free ends. The extension is rolled into a half circle, and one free end is positioned in a precise location. In this location, adhesive is applied to the free end, and the other half of the extension is thereafter rolled into a half circle, completing the loop. At this point, the two loop ends are positioned adjacent one another so as to be adhesively joined. Once joined precisely, a cold forming clamp is applied to the joined ends for a period of time necessary to fixture the assembly. After fixturing, the cold form clamp is released and a hot form clamp is applied for a period of time to shape the joint of the two ends into an aesthetically pleasing joint free of burrs and irregularities. Once formed, the assembly is complete and the loop is released into a bin for storage.

Apparatus and method for manufacturing elastic hair fasteners

A controllable device for applying a flowable material such as anti-seize composition to a workpiece utilizes a plurality of elongated nozzles insertably accommodated through a fixture plate to deposit such material onto the workpiece in a predetermined pattern. The fixture plate is provided with a corresponding number of apertures which accommodate different sizes and numbers of nozzles so that material may be applied to a large variety of workpieces without significant maintenance and modification to the device. The fixture plate is essential to define a predetermined clearance between an outlet through which the flowable material escapes from a nozzle and a surface onto which such material is applied and further cleans the nozzles in between application cycles to prevent overrun on to a workpiece surface. A corresponding method is provided which transfers flowable material from a storage reservoir to a plenum in flowable communication therewith which temporarily retains the material until an application cycle begins.
