Systems and methods for reducing displacement of selected components during Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing are described. In some embodiments, a PCBA manufacturing tool may include: a bar having a first end and a second end; a movable pin coupled to the first end, the movable pin configured to be inserted into a first hole of a PCB; and a fixed pin coupled to the second end, the fixed pin configured to be inserted into a second hole of the PCB.

Reducing displacement of selected components during printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing

A modular IHS (Information Handling System) chassis system includes a first module and a second module. An alignment pin is fixed to the sidewall of the first module. An alignment slot is cut from the corresponding sidewall of the second module. The second module also includes a retaining mechanism that receives the alignment pin during assembly of the first module and the second module. The retaining mechanism locks the alignment pin into a seated position in the first alignment slot, thus preventing separation of the first module and second module during the assembly process. The retaining mechanism may be a retaining plate that includes upper and lower protrusions that extend into the alignment slot and lock the alignment pin in place. The retaining mechanism may also be a latch that opens by pushing the alignment pin into the alignment slot and closes to lock the alignment pin in place.

Fastener alignment for split chassis assembly

Embodiments allow an IHS to be configured for different distributions of available PCIe bandwidth. An IHS is reconfigured by utilizing different PCIe riser cards that interface with the PCIe bus of the IHS and route different portions of the available PCIe lanes. PCIe bandwidth may be further distributed using an interposer card that allows a portion of the PCIe bandwidth to be routed to a PCIe device that is supported by the PCIe interposer card. The IHS may be reconfigured by manually switching the riser cards and interposer that are coupled to the IHS. The PCIe distribution is reconfigured without relying on hardware switching components that redirect PCIe lanes. The riser cards and the interposer are coupled to a PCIe baseboard connector of the IHS, where the baseboard connector is divided into two baseboard sub-connectors that each interface with the PCIe bus of the IHS.

Configurable PCIe bandwidth utilization between PCI riser and other internal functions

A backplane securing apparatus includes a chassis defining an information handling system housing ('IHS'). A first member is moveably coupled to the chassis, whereby the first member is operable to move along a first direction. A second member defines a rear portion of the IHS housing and is moveably coupled to the first member, whereby the second member is operable to move along a second direction in response to the first member moving along the first direction. A backplane may be coupled to the chassis using the second member, and an IHS may then be coupled to the backplane.

A component coupling apparatus includes a wall comprising a first surface, a second surface located opposite the first surface, and defining a guide coupling aperture extending through the wall from the first surface to the second surface. A first guide member is coupled to the wall through the guide coupling aperture and positioned adjacent the first surface. A second guide member is coupled to the wall through the guide coupling aperture and positioned adjacent the second surface. A component may be coupled to the wall using the guide member.
