A process and corresponding system for encoding and decoding digital data in analog signals is disclosed. Digital data values are represented by concurrent combinations of distinct audio tones, which combine to create chords. The chords have multiple identifiable parameters that can be modulated to represent the data values. For instance, the modulated chords can include a concurrent combination of distinct tones that each have a different frequency and a different starting time. The frequencies of the tones and the starting times of those tones can be modulated to create unique combinations that represent respective data values. As such, analog audio content of a given chord can be used to represent a particular data value and the analog audio signals can be transmitted between nodes in a communication network in order to communicate that data value.

A communication system automatically provides a secure communication link between a device and a network. A switch initiates a wireless link between the switch and the network. Then, a secure communication path is created between the switch and the network. When a device is linked to the switch, the device is automatically granted access to the secure communication path created by the switch.

System and method for establishing a secure wireless communication path

A file distribution system is provided. The file distribution system includes a communication interface configured to communicate with a plurality of storage devices, to receive a file from a file source, and to transfer two or more file portions to two or more storage devices of the plurality of storage devices. The file distribution system further includes a processing system coupled to the communication interface, with the processing system being configured to receive the file from the communication interface, divide at least part of the file into the two or more file portions, and distribute the two or more file portions to the two or more storage devices through the communication interface. The two or more storage devices correspond to the two or more file portions. Each storage device of the two or more storage devices is separate from all other storage devices of the two or more storage devices.

File distribution system and method

A communication network element comprises an I/O interface, memory, processing circuitry, and bus structure. The I/O interface receives and transfers a user packet. The memory stores the user packet, management software, and communication applications. The processing circuitry executes the management software to provide a manager and executes the communication applications to provide service functions. The service functions retrieve the user packet from the memory based on memory pointers, process the user packet, and store the processed user packet in the memory. The manager transfers the memory pointers between the service functions. The bus structure couples the I/O interface, the memory, and the processing circuitry.

A communication network element receives a user packet in a packet flow for a user and stores the user packet in a memory. The network element retrieves the user packet from the memory, processes the user packet with a first service function, and stores the user packet in the memory. The network element transfers a memory pointer for the user packet to a second service function. The network element retrieves the user packet from the memory based on the memory pointer, processes the user packet with the second service function, and stores the user packet in the memory. The network element transfers the user packet.

A blade computing system is provided according to an embodiment of the invention. The blade computing system includes a substrate, at least one capacitive communication system formed on the substrate and configured to capacitively exchange data communications, and at least one inductive power system formed on the substrate and configured to inductively receive electrical power. The blade computing system further includes one or more baffles formed on the substrate and positioned between a capacitive communication system of the at least one capacitive communication system and an inductive power system of the at least one inductive power system. The blade computing system further includes a processing system formed on the substrate and coupled to the inductive power system and the capacitive communication system.

A communication system is disclosed that encodes multiple bits of digital data on a single analog signal cycle. The communication system includes a digital data encoding system that receives the multiple bits of digital data and looks up the digital data in a Digital-to-Analog (D/A) conversion table. The D/A conversion table correlates the multiple bits of digital data to amplitudes of an analog signal and yields amplitudes values. The digital data encoding system then generates the analog signal cycle based on the amplitude values. The digital data encoding system advantageously increases the bandwidth available to customers, which is particularly important to help solve 'last mile' bandwidth problems. The communication system also includes a digital data decoding system on the receiver side that decodes the multiple bits of digital data from the analog signal cycle using an Analog-to-Digital (A/D) conversion table.
