A method for configuring a ZeroCorrelationZoneConfig (Ncs) parameter of a base station is provided. The method comprises determining a count of timing synchronization failures between a mobile device and the base station. The method comprises upon determining that the count of timing synchronization failures satisfies a threshold, dynamically configuring an Ncs parameter. The method further comprises detecting an occurrence of a timing synchronization failure. The detecting the occurrence of the timing synchronization failure comprises receiving a first message comprising a preamble, generating a preamble identification (ID) for the received preamble, transmitting a second message comprising the preamble ID, and upon transmission of the second message, detecting a non-receipt of a third message.

Determination of Ncs parameter and logical root sequence assignments

Methods and apparatuses for wireless communications are disclosed. For example, one method includes detecting a procedure and determining the procedure is a qualifying procedure. The method further includes detecting one or more handover events indicative of handover procedures, where the handover procedures interfere with the execution of the qualifying procedure. The method also includes comparing a radio frequency condition of the communication between a user equipment and a source access point with a threshold value based on the radio frequency condition and delaying handover procedures for a predefined time based on the comparison, wherein the delaying of the handover procedures occurs when the detected procedure is the qualifying procedure and when the radio frequency condition satisfies a threshold that is based on the threshold value.

Methods and apparatus for reducing handover signaling during wireless communication procedures

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus performs a handover from a source cell to a target cell. The apparatus determines a decoding timer value based on network conditions. The apparatus attempts to decode a MIB or a SIB from the target cell within a time after the handover corresponding to the decoding timer value. The apparatus triggers a radio link failure (RLF) when the MIB or the SIB is not decoded within the time corresponding to the decoding timer value.

Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a base station. A base station may identify a service type of a mobile device (e.g., voice, web-browsing, or video download). The base station may then determine handover or measurement parameters for the mobile device based on the service type. The base station may also determine a performance metric of the service type. The base station may then adjust the set of parameters based at least in part on the performance metric. In some cases, the base station may select a measurement configuration based on the adjusted parameters.

Apparatus and method for determining cell suitability for a wireless device in a communication system

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for improved traffic management in wireless communications are disclosed. Aspects of the present disclosure provide real-time radio frequency (RF) assessments to a network by leveraging measurement reports from user equipment (UE). In some aspects, the network utilizes the real-time RF assessments based on the measurement reports to adjust one or more idle-mode parameters of the UE and assign priorities to a plurality of frequencies based on their respective coverage area and/or propagation characteristics. In one example, the priority assignments for two or more of the plurality of frequencies may be inversely proportional to their respective coverage areas, so as to push UEs with acceptable signal quality to frequencies with smaller coverage area, thereby releasing frequencies with greater coverage area for UEs that are near or at the edge of the effective range of the base station.

Autonomous layer management

Methods, systems, and devices are described for dynamically adjusting a ZeroCorrelationZoneConfig (Ncs) parameter of a base station. An initial Ncs parameter is set for the base station. A determination is made as to whether a count of timing synchronization failures between a mobile device and the base station exceeds a threshold. A determination is also made as to whether the timing synchronization failures correspond to a predetermined range of timing advanced (TA) estimated values. Upon determining that the count of timing synchronization failures exceeds the threshold and that the failures correspond to the predetermined range of TA estimated values, the initial Ncs parameter is dynamically adjusted.

Determination of NCS parameter and logical root sequence assignments

In an embodiment, a user equipment (UE) determines that a client application has entered a period of transmission inactivity whereby the UE will not be required to transmit data on behalf of the client application. The UE selectively transmits a transmission inactivity notification to an access network (AN) to notify the AN of the transmission inactivity period. The AN receives the transmission inactivity notification and determines to transition the UE from a first state to a second state based at least in part on the received transmission inactivity notification, the second state associated with lower-power consumption of the UE than the first state. The AN sends instructions to the UE to facilitate the transition of the UE from the first state to the second state. In another embodiment, the AN can send instructions to the UE to prohibit the UE from sending transmission inactivity notifications.
