A secure smart card is described. The smart card can include a processor, a memory and a transceiver. The smart card can communicate with various terminals and store a digital signature and other information on the card. Another terminal can validate the information stored on the smart card using the digital signature. In certain embodiments, the terminal can also validate the information by using a blockchain. The advanced design of the smart card obviates the need for a network connection.

An automated method is provided for initiating a transaction function in a transaction processing device. The method comprises establishing near field communication between the transaction processing device and an NFC transmitting device having an associated tag identifier and receiving NFC information including the tag identifier. The transaction processing device transmits the NFC information to a merchant processor and receives from the merchant processor a tag rule communication including an instruction to carry out a transaction function associated with the tag identifier or a request to associate a new transaction function with the tag identifier. Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for authenticating a mobile user via an authentication method determined based on a token level associated with the action being completed. An authentication token is created corresponding to the token level and the authentication token is sent to the mobile device. This authentication token may be used to authenticate subsequent actions and engage various services to complete the actions using application programming interfaces. The authentication token stored on the mobile device obviates the need for a user to authenticate multiple times to complete actions requiring a similar token level. The system may authenticate the identity of the mobile user using various authentication methods.

The mobile application installed on a mobile device may be used to setup a prestaged transaction. When the mobile device is in the proximity to the kiosk to complete the prestaged transaction, a location of the mobile device may be verified using ambient sound recorded by a microphone of the mobile device. The ambient sound may be songs, tones, or ultrasonic sound played by a sound system near the kiosk. The recorded ambient sound may then be compared to expected audio from the sound system to determine whether the mobile device is in proximity to the kiosk.

An automated method is provided for activating a NFC application in a mobile interface device. In this method, the device receives from a beacon a wireless beacon signal comprising at least one beacon identifier. The wireless beacon signal is processed by the mobile interface device to determine the at least one beacon identifier. The mobile interface device determines based on the at least one beacon identifier, whether to activate the NFC application. Responsive to a determination that the NFC application should be activated, the mobile interface device transitions the NFC application from a passive state to an active state. NFC communication is then established between the mobile interface device and at least one NFC transmitting device disposed within a beacon range volume defined by the beacon location and the beacon range.
