There is provided a measurement apparatus including a light source unit configured to emit pulsed laser light used for pump light and Stokes light that excite predetermined molecular vibration of a measurement sample and for probe light that is intensity-modulated with a predetermined reference frequency and that has a same wavelength as the pump light or the Stokes light, a pulse control unit configured to cause time delay of the probe light generated by the light source unit and then to guide the pump light, the Stokes light, and the time-delayed probe light to the measurement sample, and a detection unit configured to detect transmitted light transmitted through the measurement sample or reflected light from the measurement sample. A relaxation time of the molecular vibration of the measurement sample is measured using time-resolved stimulated Raman gain spectroscopic measurement or time-resolved stimulated Raman loss spectroscopic measurement of the measurement sample.

Provided is a fundus imaging apparatus including a wavefront adjuster and a detector. The wavefront adjuster is configured to adjust a wavefront of a femtosecond pulsed laser beam incident on an ocular fundus to be examined. An optical recording medium having two or more information recording layers in which information is recorded at a high recording density. The optical recording medium is comprised of information recording layers between a first surface at which light is incident and a second surface opposite the first surface. The first information recording layer nearest to the second surface is a phase-modulation information recording layer, and the second information recording layer is a reflectance-modulation information recording layer.

Optical recording and reproducing method and apparatus having multiple recording layers

A dielectric partcomprising a nitride layerand an oxide layer, laid one upon the other, is formed on a data-recording layer. A light-transmitting layeris boned with adhesive to the dielectric part. Three-dimensional image display method and its display apparatus

A magneto-optical disk having a four-layer structure formed of a first protective dielectric layer, a recording magnetic layer, a second protective dielectric layer and a reflective metal layer is disclosed. The constraints for the film thicknesses of the various layers are determined not only from the optical and magneto-optical aspects, but from the aspect of the dynamic thermal response. The recording magnetic layer is a magnetic layer mainly formed of TbFeCo and having a film thickness of not less than 180 .ANG. and not more than 280 .ANG.. The first protective dielectric layer is a nitride film having a film thickness such that the product of its refractive index and the film thickness is not less than 0.2 and not more than 0.35 times the wavelength of the laser light employed. The second protective dielectric layer is a nitride film having a film thickness such that the product of its refractive index and the film thickness is not less than 0.1 and not more than 0.15 times the wavelength of the laser light employed. The the reflective metal layer is a metal layer having a film thickness of not less than 500 .ANG. and not more than 1000 .ANG., with the metal being electro-chemically less noble than the material of the recording magnetic layer and having a reflectivity at the boundary with the second protective dielectric material of not less than 70%.

Magneto-optical disk

A direct viewing picture image display apparatus displays a good picture image with a small amount of light and low power consumption using a laser beam without producing speckle noises. The display apparatus comprises a light source for emitting a laser beam, an optical modulating system for optically modulating the laser beam from the light source in response to a video signal, a scanning system for horizontally and vertically scanning the modulated laser beam from the scanning signal in response to a scanning signal, and a projecting optical system for projecting the scanned laser beam from the scanning system to form an image of the laser beam on the retina of an eye of an observer. Depth information is provided to the laser beam at a suitable stage after optical modulation by the optical modulating system so that a stereoscopic image is displayed.
