A scroll fluid machine comprising a first scroll rotated by a drive source, a second scroll eccentric from the central axis of the first scroll, the second scroll cooperating with the first scroll to compress fluid, a coupling which is provided on the outer end surface of one of said first and second scrolls and engaged with the one scroll at two positions in the periphery thereof so that the scrolls are movable in diametrical directions which are perpendicular to each other, respectively, and a pair of coupling arms which are provided on the other of the first and second scrolls and engaged with the coupling at two positions in the periphery thereof, in such a manner that the phantom line connecting the positions of engagement of said coupling arms is perpendicular to the phantom line connecting the positions of engagement of said coupling.

A molded-type underwater motor is equipped with a stator core impregnated with varnish, powder coatings provided on the perimeters of coil ends projecting from the sides of the stator core, and a resin molded body covering both the powder coated coil ends and the stator core. A resin of the same family is used to prepare the resin molded body, the powder coatings and the varnish.

A submerged electric motor has a molded bracket fitted into a hollow cylindrical molded member for a canned stator to cause an annular sealing member to abut against a radial front end surface connected to a cylindrical surface abutting against that of the molded member and another cylindrical surface connected to the front end surface on the bracket side and against an axial extension of the abutting cylindrical surface and a radial bottom surface connected to each other on the molded member side while a can disposed on the inner surface of the molded member has an extension radially outward bent so as to be sandwiched between the sealing member and the bottom surface.

A liquid-seal type motor comprising a cylindrical frame, a stator fixed inside the frame, a can placed at the inner circumferential side of the stator, a pair of end plates placed at both ends of and between the frame and a can to be sealingly connected thereto to thereby form an insulating oil enclosing part in which the stator is confined, a pair of brackets connected to the pair of the end plates respectively and a rotor placed in the can to be journaled by the brackets, a lubricating oil enclosing part being defined by the can, brackets and rotor wherein a flexible pressure adjusting means is placed in the insulating oil enclosing part to sealingly define the interior of the part into two chambers.

A submergible motor for use in a well of water, for example, comprises a motor winding, an insulated power supply conductor for connection to a power supply, an insulated motor conductor connected to the motor winding, and a circuit element electrically connected between the power supply and motor conductors, the circuit element being encased in a molded material in a water-resistant manner and connected to the power supply and/or motor conductors.

A molding material having low moisture permeability for use in the stators of submersible motors. The molding material comprises approximately 20-30 parts by weight of an epoxy resin, approximately 1-3 parts by weight of a curing agent, approximately 0.5-1.5 parts by weight of zinc stearate, approximately 2-3 parts by weight of a mechanical reinforcing agent, approximately 7.5-56.5 parts by weight of quartz powder, and one or more substances selected from anhydrous gypsum and silica gel, with the total amount of said inorganic substance(s) being approximately 55-20 parts by weight, and with the total amount of quartz powder and said inorganic substance(s) being approximately 62.5-76.5 parts by weight. Because of its low moisture permeability, the insulating properties of the molding material can be maintained indefinitely.

Molding material for the stator of a submersible motor

A submerged electric motor comprises an outer hollow cylinder formed of a stainless steel, a stator iron core fixed on the inside of the outer cylinder, an annular end plate of a general structural rolled steel welded to an annular end portion formed between the outer hollow cylinder and an inner hollow cylinder coaxial with it by using a welding wire of the stainless steel. A combined deposit metal and fused portion underlaid with the end plate is machined to have an end surface flush with that of the end plate. A bracket is fixed to those end surfaces through bolts. Also a sheet-shaped soft sealing member may be interposed between the bracket and the machined end plate.

The stator core having stator coils thereon of a submersible electric motor is provided with a cylindrical can disposed in engagement with the inner surface of the stator coil and molded resin member is formed completely about the external surface of the core, the end surfaces of the core and the end portions of the coils in engagement with the end portions of the can to completely encapsulate the core and coils. The end portions of the can may be bent outwardly and embedded directly in the molded resin member during the molding thereof with the can located within the core. Alternatively, a mold tool may be located within the core for molding the molded resin member about the stator core and coils and upon removal of the tool a hollow cylindrical can may be located within the core. The end portions of the can are then sealed to the end portions of the molded member. A terminal plate and fastener fittings may also be molded integrally into the molded member. End brackets may then be secured to opposite ends of the molded resin member. The brackets are provided with bosses which extend into the can and a seal is provided between the can and the boss. The can, in conjunction with the end brackets, define a central portion for receiving a lubricant for the bearings supporting a rotor within the can.

Submersible electric motor and method of manufacturing the same

In an encased electric motor within a casing, an electrically insulating varnish is applied by vacuum impregnation to the inside surfaces of the casing and to the outer surface of the stator of the motor. The remaining empty space within the casing is filled with a heat conducting gas mixture comprising approximately 60-90% by volume of helium, with the remaining percentage being an electrically insulating gas having better electrically insulating properties than helium, such as sulphur hexafluoride. This encased motor is much lighter than conventional encased motors in which the stator enclosure is filled with a heat conducting resin potting compound and avoids warping damage which frequently occurs in conventional encased motors due to thermal expansion of the heat conducting resin potting compound.

A mold type motor comprises a molded resin frame covering the surfaces of a stator iron core and a coil end and molded resin brackets detachably fitted on the end openings of the molded resin frame wherein a surge absorber unit is embedded in the molded resin frame and is electrically connected to a grounding element.

Submergible motor construction

A molded submersible well motor comprises a hollow cylindrical frame 4 formed of resinous molding material into which a stator assembly having stator cores 2 and coils 15 is molded. End brackets 10, 11 also formed of resinous molding material are detachably secured to opposite ends of said frame to close the openings thereof. A surge absorber unit 6 is molded into the frame, and a starting switch 14 for said motor is molded into end bracket 10.

A shaft seal device for a submersible motor, comprising a seal box which is provided at an end part of a case of the motor; a pair of lip type shaft sealing members which are disposed between an inner surface of said seal box and a rotary shaft of the motor and whose lips are arranged so as to inwardly face each other with a spacing therebetween; a lubricant which is stored in an interspace defined between said shaft sealing member; an auxiliary refuse remover which adjoins an outer side of one of said shaft sealing members and which is snugly inserted between the inner surface of an end part of said seal box and the rotary shaft of the motor, said auxiliary refuse remover being composed of a fitting and a soft material member which is received in said fitting and which is snugly positioned on the rotary shaft of the motor; and another refuse remover which is disposed so as to adjoin an outer side of said auxiliary refuse remover.

A molded submersible well motor comprises a hollow cylindrical frame 5 formed of resinous molding material into which a stator assembly having stator cores 2 and coils 3 is molded. End brackets 8 also formed of resinous molding material are detachably secured to opposite ends of the frame to close the openings thereof. A starting switch 12 for the motor is molded into the upper end bracket, together with an interconnecting terminal 9 comprising upper and lower contact posts 91, 92 for connecting the power cable 10 to the stator coils via a connector 6 and an intermediate connector 11, and a sub-receptacle 901, 930 projecting outwardly perpendicular to the main terminal 9 for connection to the starting switch.
