Disclosed is a fluid detection device including a fluid sensor positioned near a patient's body and providing a signal whether the sensor detects fluid from the patient's body; a casing surrounding the alarm and allowing the signal to be sensed by the patient; an alarm coupled to the fluid sensor, the alarm including one or more of: an audible signal sensible by the patient, a haptic signal sensible by the patient, a visible signal sensible by the patient through the casing; a casing surrounding the alarm and allowing the signal to be sensed by the patient; and a fastener coupled to the casing, adjustable to attach and remove from one or more of: the patient's body, the patient's clothing. The casing, when closed, may couple a power source to the alarm. Also included may be a human interface and other features. Also disclosed is a fluid detection method.

Fluid detection system

Provided is an electrolyte sensor that uses conductive elastomer electrodes. Examples of the intended analytes for sensor use include those found in urine, saliva, blood, feces, and spinal fluid, although other analytes exist for electrolyte detection. Conductive elastomer trace electrodes are separated by a channel or gap which can be bridged by an electrolyte and thereby complete an electrical circuit to an alarm or other circuitry. Channel or gap distances vary the level of electrical resistance associated with detecting certain analytes.

Electrolyte sensor and method and producing thereof

An apparatus for fluid detection comprises a fluid sensor positioned near a patient's body, an alarm connected to the fluid sensor, a closeable casing having a size that allows it to maintain the alarm within a space that is defined by the closeable casing, and a fastener coupled to the closeable casing. The fluid sensor provides a signal whenever the fluid sensor detects fluid. The alarm includes one or more status indicators that are responsive to the signal. The closeable casing allows the patient to see, hear, or otherwise sense, the alarm through the closeable casing. The fastener is affixed to: the patient's body, the patient's clothing, or both. The casing can be opened and closed, and optionally, the alarm can be removed and replaced in the space the casing defines.

Electrolyte sensor and method for producing thereof

Provided is a band for holding a fluid detection system on a body of a wearer and methods of use thereof. The band comprises a strap having a first portion and a second portion. The second portion is configured to couple to the first portion and to form a closed loop adjustable in diameter to fit around a body part of the wearer. The band further comprises a pouch configured to securely hold an alarm of the fluid detection system, and a flap configured to form a closed loop adjustable in diameter to fit the size of the alarm. The flap may include one or more openings to provide audibility and visibility of a signal produced by the alarm. The band may be securely attached to any body part including an arm, a hand, a waist, a head, a leg, a foot, a wrist, a trunk, a neck, or a chest.

Band for holding a fluid detection system

An alarm unit for monitoring or detecting presence of an analyte on a separate sensor portion. The present invention comprises only the alarm unit and its means for attachment to a user's clothing. A square plastic casing protects the alarm electronics portion including a signal processing means. A large clip attachment means is included that is easily separated and attached from the casing and is used to attach the unit to clothing and which has enough clearance to be used with thick articles of clothing including diapers and which has a set of teeth frictionally held against a rubber strip portion located on the casing back so as to also enable secure attachment to very thin articles of clothing. A three-way switch is located externally for easy alarm chime and alarm volume selection. Interdependent modes of operation enable the signal processing means to control the alarm unit operation and features including low power indication, improper cable plug installment, three-way switch deactivation during Monitor mode, and a snooze/reset feature by which the alarm is easily disabled temporarily so that, as an example, a user can focus on running to the bathroom where the device is used to treat enuresis.

Alarm unit for monitoring or detection of an analyte

In one example embodiment, an alarm unit for monitoring or detecting presence of an analyte on an analyte sensor comprises a square plastic casing protecting the alarm electronics portion and including a signal processing means, a clip attachment means configured to be separated and attached from the casing and used to attach the unit to clothing. The clip attachment has enough clearance to be used with thick articles of clothing including diapers and has a set of teeth frictionally held against a rubber strip portion located on the casing back so as to also enable secure attachment to very thin articles of clothing. The alarm unit may further comprise a three-way switch located externally for easy alarm chime and alarm volume selection.
