Provided is a method for producing a porous material, wherein porosity can be controlled to 50% or higher by means of a freezing method, pore size can be controlled to 10 &#x3bc;m to 300 &#x3bc;m, and pore diameter distribution is uniform. The method is a method for producing a porous material, comprising freezing a mixture of water and a raw material comprising at least any of a ceramic material, a resin, a metal, and precursors thereof from a specific portion of the mixture to use ice crystals produced at the time as a pore source and then heat-treating a dry material obtained by removing the ice from the frozen material, wherein the mixture of a raw material and water or the frozen material comprises an antifreeze protein.

Method for producing porous material using antifreeze protein

A novel material having ice nucleation activity or activity to promote freezing is provided. The present invention related to a carrier upon which polypeptides are immobilized for promoting the freezing of water or a hydrous substance. That is a carrier upon which polypeptides having side chains for binding to water molecules on the molecular surfaces of the polypeptides are integrated and immobilized; and a carrier upon which antifreeze proteins are integrated and immobilized.

Material for promoting the freezing of water or hydrous substance

The present invention provides antifreeze proteins produced by a basidiomycete. The antifreeze protein has a high antifreeze activity such as a thermal hysteresis activity or an ice-recrystallization inhibition activity.

Antifreeze proteins from basidiomy cetes

The present invention provides an antifreeze protein, wherein thermal hysteresis activity and ice recrystallization inhibitory activity are artificially improved. The antifreeze protein is multimerized using a polypeptide linker to improve the thermal hysteresis and ice nuclei growth inhibitory effects in low concentrations.
