A door lock includes a latch assembly positioned at least partially within the door and movable between an engaged position in which the door is held in a closed position and a disengaged position in which the door is movable from a closed position to an open position. An outside spindle is rotatable about an axis and an inside spindle is rotatable about the axis to move the latch assembly between the engaged position and the disengaged position. A locking plate is movable along the axis between a locked position in which the outside spindle is fixed and an unlocked position in which the outside spindle and the inside spindle are each rotatable and a privacy lock actuator positioned on the inside of the door and movable in a direction substantially normal to the axis to move the locking plate between the locked position and the unlocked position.

Side mounted privacy lock for a residential door

An exemplary locking system includes an outer actuator, an outer spindle coupled to the outer actuator, a center spindle coupled to a latch assembly, and a lock control assembly selectively coupling the outer spindle and the center spindle. The lock control assembly is operable in a locked state wherein rotation of the manual actuator is prevented, and an unlocked state wherein the manual actuator is operable to rotate the center spindle. The lock control assembly is configured to transition from the locked state to the unlocked state in response to rotation of the center spindle, for example by an inner actuator.

Lock mechanism with egress release

A key and a lock cylinder () combination including a key and a lock cylinder having a housing and a plug. The key () includes a blade that has a first pin groove () on a first lateral side defining a first pin surface, and a second pin groove () on the first lateral side defining&#x2014;a second pin surface. The lock cylinder also includes an auxiliary pin () with a first projection () defining a first engagement surface engageable by the first pin surface when the key is inserted into the key slot to move the auxiliary pin to a withdrawn position to allow rotation of the plug relative to the housing, and a second projection () defining a second engagement surface engageable by the second pin surface when the key is removed from the key slot to move the auxiliary pin to a projecting position to prevent rotation of the plug relative to the housing.

Lock cylinder and key combination

A master key system and method for a reprogrammable lock cylinder with at least one first master pin and one second master pin. The first and second master pins have different bitting configurations. The master key system includes at least a first array of change key cuts corresponding to an input key bitting array and sequence of progression and at least two master key cuts corresponding to the input key bitting array and sequence of progression and each of the change key cuts. The system further comprises at least one master pin matrix including a master pin sequence for each change key cut and at least one rekey matrix including a rekey cut for each change key. Each master pin sequence represents a sequence of master pins configured to achieve the respective change key cut and the at least two master key cuts.

Master keying system and method for programmable lock cylinder assemblies

A lock assembly for use with a latch movable from an extended position to a retracted position, and the lock assembly includes an interior assembly and an exterior assembly. The interior assembly includes an interior handle manually movable to retract the latch and a locking member manually operable such that the locking member is movable from an unlocked position to a locked position. The exterior assembly includes an exterior handle manually operable to retract the latch when the locking member is in the unlocked position and inoperable to retract the latch when the locking member is in the locked position. The exterior assembly further includes a biasing member that biases the locking member toward the unlocked position. When the locking member is in the locked position, movement of the interior handle to retract the latch causes the biasing member to move the locking member to the unlocked position.

Door lock assembly

A programmable lock cylinder assembly comprising a lock housing and a cylinder plug mounted for rotation within the housing. A set of rack pins are positioned in the cylinder plug and moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A set of tongue pins are positioned in the cylinder plug and extend across the keyway. Each tongue pin is selectively engagable with a respective rack pin. A re-combinating member is engaged with the tongue pins and moveable between a first position wherein the tongue pins are engaged with the rack pins and a second position wherein the tongue pins are disengaged from the rack pins. A reset actuator is positioned within the cylinder plug and moveable between an engaged position wherein the re-combinating member position is locked relative to the cylinder plug and a non-engaged position wherein the re-combinating member position is moveable relative to the cylinder plug.

Programmable lock cylinder assembly

A lock assembly that includes a push button assembly manually movable from an unlocked position to a locked position, a biasing member that biases the push button assembly toward the unlocked position, and a retaining member that engages the push button assembly and a lock member to retain the push button assembly in the locked position. The lock assembly further includes an exterior handle, a driver, and a cam member coupled to the driver for rotation with the driver. The push button assembly engages the cam member to rotate the driver toward a locked position when the push button assembly moves from the unlocked position toward the locked position and the push button assembly engages the cam member to rotate the driver toward an unlocked position when the push button moves from the locked position toward the unlocked position.
