A field-of-view of a scene is scanned by an augmented reality device. The scene includes one or more objects including a first computing device. A portion of an electronic document is detected based on the scanned field-of-view. The portion of the electronic document is rendered on a display of the first computing device. A content element of the electronic document that is rendered on the display is captured. A second computing device determines an incomplete portion of the content element. A suggestion to complete the incomplete portion is provided by the augmented reality device.

Document augmented auto complete

Assessing data center impact post disaster is provided. A data center is divided into hazard segments post disaster based on a combination of hazard type, hazard level, and hazard location identified in time series information from sensors and cameras. A financial value of each identifiable asset in the data center is calculated based on determined operational viability status, estimated soft value, and determined criticality of each identifiable asset. A time cost and an operational cost of impact assessment devices used to assess an impact on the data center and recover assets is calculated. A disaster assessed map is generated by overlaying the time series information, calculated financial values, and calculated time and operational costs on a digital floorplan of the data center. One or more types of impact assessment devices are assigned to each hazard segment at different time periods to rescue and recover financially valuable and operationally viable assets.

Data center impact assessment post disaster

An approach is provided for configuring a service management (SM) tool. During an application deployment, a service registry receives a query from a tier of the application for a list of SM tools that provide a SM function. The service registry sends the list of SM tools to the application. Using an application programming interface (API) in an integration layer, (i) a user-selected SM tool included in the list of SM tools, (ii) a business criticality of the tier of the application, and (iii) parameters specifying the SM function are received. Using the API and based on the business criticality of the tier of the application, the selected SM tool is configured with the parameters specifying the SM function.

Application driven configuration of service management tools

Techniques for augmenting technical instruction sets with additional solutions from solution providers are described. A user query for technical instruction comprising a technical problem to solve is received and a current user state from data representing user knowledge and available physical resources is determined from the user. Additionally, a technical instruction set is identified and an augmented technical instruction set comprising additional technical instructions from a winner of a knowledge augmentation auction is generated and returned.

Enabling sponsored solutions for technical instruction augmentation

The augmented reality system described herein calculates a personalized escape plan from a location for a user. A participant is registered to an emergency direction system that employs an augmented reality system to provide instructions to the participant to exit a data center. The emergency direction system receives a floor plan. The emergency direction system may also detect a hazard, and determine a hazard growth score. The emergency direction system can also compute a dynamic escape plan using hazard growth score and the hazard location. In some embodiments, the emergency direction system can also recalculate the dynamic escape plan to account for the person to carry an asset during exiting the structure corresponding to the floor plan in response to the hazard. Instructions for the person to exit the data center in response to the hazard carrying the asset are forwarded to the participant.

Augmented reality based dynamic guidance

Method and apparatus for improving ease of use, customizability, and functionality of computing devices via chatbots may be realized by processing a natural language query, by a first chatbot, to identify a monitored device in a computing environment that relates to the natural language query; transmitting the query to a second chatbot provided by the monitored device; receiving a response from the second chatbot identifying an anomaly observed on the monitored device; and outputting an user interface for display, the user interface comprising a natural language summary of the response.

On-demand auctioning of cloud services amongst cloud computing service providers includes publishing, by a client, on a publish-subscribe platform, cloud computing resource requirement(s); subscribing to the publish-subscribe platform by at least two providers of cloud computing service(s); bidding, by each of the at least two providers, on one or more the at cloud computing resource requirement(s) via a bidding platform; selecting, by the client, and publishing on the publish-subscribe platform, at least one of the at least two providers for the cloud computing resource requirement(s); and, in one example, prior to the selecting, cognitively recommending to the client, by a data processing system, one or more of the at least two providers.

On demand auctions amongst cloud service providers

A cognitive display interface operatively couples to a display device and provides augmentation data for display to a user within a restricted access space based on user input. The interface receives user input and context-related data, with the user providing the user input within the space, and one or more sensors providing the context-related data. The interface analyzes the context-related sensor data to determine a location and an orientation of the user within the space at the time of providing the user input, resolves context of the user input based, at least in part, on the determined location and orientation of the user within the space, and determines a search query from the input and the resolved context. A response to the search query is generated based, at least in part, on searching a database(s), and the interface provides a response as augmentation data for rendering on the display device.

Cognitive display interface for augmenting display device content within a restricted access space based on user input

A cloud infrastructure is disclosed that includes: a cloud portal for providing user access to cloud resources; a cloud catalog database having a catalog list of cloud resources; a cloud catalog solution generator that populates the cloud catalog database, wherein the cloud catalog solution generator includes: a first interface process for receiving event data for resources associated within a cloud infrastructure; a second interface process for receiving usage/account information, monitored information, and document information; an aggregation system that continuously aggregates the event data with the usage/account information, monitored information, and document information to create a dynamic catalog list having supplementary information for items in the catalog list; and a third interface process for outputting the dynamic catalog list to a cloud catalog database; and a cloud catalog suggestion engine that processes user inputs entered via the cloud portal and outputs a set of suggested items from the cloud catalog database.

Dynamic cloud solution catalog

A method and associated systems for enabling digital asset reuse. Users are each associated with a collection of digital assets and each user and each asset is assigned an eminence value. When a first user initially accesses an asset, the asset is copied to the first user's collection, thus indicating the first user's favorable view of the asset. When a second user accesses the first user's copy, the asset is copied to the second user's collection, and the eminence of the first user and of the asset are increased. If a third user accesses the second user's copy, the asset is copied to the third user's collection and eminence values of the first and second users and of the asset increase. The second user may locate an asset in the first user's collection through means that include the second user's decision to 'follow' the first user.

Cost-effective reuse of digital assets

A system, method and program product are provided for integrating a plurality of cloud orchestrators and service management (SM) platforms to provide a hybrid cloud environment. A system is disclosed that includes: interface system that includes a first gateway for providing communications with SM platforms that adhere to an SM protocol and a second gateway for providing communications with the plurality of cloud orchestrators, wherein the SM protocol defines a set of management processes for handling service requests; a service request processing system that processes service requests from SM platforms using selected cloud orchestrators, wherein the service request processing system includes a set of management modules in which each management module processes activities associated with of a different one of the management processes; a rules and conditions engine that includes logic to select a cloud orchestrator to be used to service an inputted service request; and a set of data conversion modules, wherein each data conversion module includes logic that converts data associated with an SM platform to a data format required by a one of the cloud orchestrators.

Modular framework to integrate service management systems and cloud orchestrators in a hybrid cloud environment

Discovering workflows in communications exchanged between a sender and at least one recipient. A communication is received and analyzed to detect workflow. The analyzing of the communication detects the sender and the at least one recipient from the communication; analyzes the communication to extract questions and corresponding responses; stores the questions and responses in a repository; generates a link to the questions and responses in the repository, and generating a user interface for the link to the questions and responses in the repository. A communication is then sent to the at least one recipient with a link to the questions and responses in the repository, extracted from the communication, replacing the questions and responses present in the communication.

Workflow provision with workflow discovery, creation and reconstruction by analysis of communications

A method and associated systems for reusing digital assets and automatically updating user and asset eminence values associated with each asset reuse. Users each control a collection of digital assets and each user and each asset is assigned an eminence value that represents a relative importance of a user or asset. When a first user accesses an asset, that asset is copied to the first user's collection. When a second user accesses the first user's copy, the asset is copied to the second user's collection, and the eminence of the first user and of the asset are increased. When a third user accesses the second user's copy, the asset is copied to the third user's collection and first-user's, second-user's, and asset's eminence values increase. The second user may automatically locate an asset in the first user's collection by 'following' the first user.
