A sheet feeding apparatus is provided with a sheet stacking device for stacking sheets thereon, a sheet feeding device for feeding the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking device, and a heating device for heating the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking device. The heating device is designed such that of the heat generating areas of the heating device, the heating value of the heat generating area for the central portion of the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking device is greater than the heating values of the other heat generating areas.

A developing device includes a developing sleeve for carrying a magnetic developer, a regulating sleeve for regulating the thickness of the layer of the developer on the developing sleeve, magnets for generating a magnetic field in a layer-thickness regulating portion by the regulating sleeve, and magnetic members provided so as to have a small gap between the circumferences of the developing sleeve and the regulating sleeve. It is an object of this invention to provide a cylindrical body manufacturing method capable of setting a high coaxiality and a high run-out accuracy between a cylindrical member and a flange member. A flange held at the end of a robot hand is clearance-fitted in an inner-diameter processed hole in the end portion of the sleeve while the central axis of the flange is aligned with that of the sleeve. A fixing device has a fixing member for conveying a recording medium while holding the recording medium thereon, and fixing an image on the recording medium, a separating member having a pivot shaft and urged against the surface of the fixing member, and a guide member provided downstream of the separating member with respect to the direction of movement of the recording medium for guiding the recording medium. Disclosed is an image heating device for a fixing device in image forming apparatus. The image heating device is provided with two heaters and an image fixing roller. The image fixing roller is heated by the two heaters, one having the heat distribution in the center and the other having the heat distribution in the end portion of the fixing roller. The heaters are alternately energized so that the power requirement is maintained limited. The energization time ratio of the heaters is suitably varied according to the sheet size in order to compensate the temperature loss in the end portions when the heating is conducted in the central portion only, or to reduce the temperature rise in the end portions, encountered when narrow sheets are consecutively passed, thereby preventing various drawbacks resulting from uneven temperature distribution on the fixing roller.

The present invention provides a cassette loading device for an image forming apparatus including a sheet feeding portion within which a cassette for accommodating sheets is loaded, and a sheet feeding device arranged in the sheet feeding portion and adapted to feed the sheet from the cassette loaded within the sheet feeding portion. The cassette loading device has a guide for guiding the cassette to be loaded; a cassette shifting device rotatable along the guide means and having pins engageable with the cassette inserted into the sheet feeding portion; a driver for driving the cassette shifting device; vertical surfaces formed in the cassette and against which the pins are abutted to shift the cassette; and horizontal recesses formed in the cassette and adapted to direct the pins toward the vertical surfaces. The present invention further provides an image forming apparatus which includes an image forming apparatus for forming an image on the sheet being fed, and the above-mentioned cassette loading device.
