A blending system is shown and described herein. The blending system may include a base including a motor, a blade selectively and operably engaged with the base, where the motor rotates the blade, a container having an open end and a lid configured to cover the open end. The blending system may also include an interlock system that may include a plurality of induction coils positioned on the base and the container and be in electrical communication with at least one lid sensor, wherein the power is translated through the induction coils to engage a switch device to complete a power circuit to allow a user to operate the motor of the blender.

A blending system includes a container or housing, a blade assembly, and an insert are described herein. The insert is disposed in or on the container or housing. The blade assembly includes a drive shaft. The drive shaft is rotatable. A magnet is attached to the drive shaft. Rotation of the magnet induces current in the insert. The current induces heat.

In-container inductive heating for a blender

A motor for a blender may include an armature and a coil. The coil and armature operatively receive power from a power source. The blender may include a controller and a memory. The memory may store instructions that, when executed by the controller, cause the controller to dynamically alter an output current to the motor. The instructions adjust the output current supplied to the motor at a given speed to reduce torque of the motor to match a preferred torque versus speed profile.

Dynamic power control of torque in motor

A hand-held appliance having a housing with a top portion and a bottom portion that houses a motor and a temperature sensor configured to monitor the motor temperature and, if the temperature reaches a predetermined threshold, trigger removal of power until the temperature is below the threshold. The motor is controlled via a power button located on an external face of the housing. The housing includes a speed-set-button located on an external face of the housing controlling the speed of the motor and a plurality of lights corresponding to the respective speed thereof. The bottom of the housing includes a coupling portion configured to receive an attachment such as a blending assembly, whisk, frothing assembly, or other attachment. The housing further includes a sensor configured to monitor motor performance and applied load and, if the load exceeds a predetermined threshold, trigger removal of power from the motor.

A blender system that includes a base that is selectively and operatively engaged with a container is shown and described herein. The base may include a near field communications chip that may communicate with a near field communications chip of a container. The base also includes a motor that is selectively and operatively engaged with a blade disposed within the container.

The container may include a magnet and may be engagable with a blade base. The blade base may include a switch that responds to the magnet. The blender system may include a shield that shields the magnet and switch from a magnetic field generated by operation of a motor.

A blender system that includes a base that is selectively and operatively engaged with a container and an open and closable enclosure is shown and described herein. The base may include an interlock component that may interact with an interlock component of an enclosure or a container. The base also includes a motor that is selectively and operatively engaged with a blade disposed within the container. The motor may be controlled based on arrangement of the base, the enclosure, or the container.

A motor is generally described. The motor may include an armature and a coil. The coil and armature operatively receive power from a power source. The power induces magnetic fields in the coil and armature to drive the armature. When power is removed, the coils reverse polarity to inductively decelerate the armature.
