The crossbar is bisected by the steering post and the crossbar elongated in a cross-vehicle direction from a first end to a second end. The vehicle includes a brace supported by the crossbar. The brace includes a first portion, a second portion spaced from the first portion, and a curved portion connecting the first portion to the second portion. The first portion is supported by the first end of the crossbar and the second portion is supported by the second end of the crossbar.

The tubular members are spaced from each other and include internal reinforcing walls that stiffen the battery enclosure and absorb impact loads. The reinforcing walls may be in an X-shaped, Y-shaped or parallel and may be oriented to absorb impact loads to a greater or lesser extent.

An impact absorbing system includes a vehicle floor, a rocker, and a reinforcement member. The rocker is disposed below the vehicle floor. The reinforcement member is supported on the rocker. The reinforcement member is deployable from an undeployed position beneath the vehicle floor to a deployed position above the vehicle floor.
