A system and method for providing notification on remote devices are provided. In architecture, the system includes a computer device for performing the operation. The computer device includes a message send module that sends a message to the remote device using an IP link and a determination module that determines that the message sent by the IP link was not received by the remote device. Moreover, the computer device further includes a resend module that resends the message automatically using a SMS transmission process. A method for providing notification on remote devices is also provided. The method operates by (1) sending a message to the remote device using a IP link; (2) determining that the message sent by the IP link was not received by the remote device; and (3) resending the message automatically using a SMS transmission process.

Apparatus and method for providing notification on remote devices

The present invention provides a system and method for efficiently transferring files using file differentiation. In architecture, the system includes a client device with a device file, a server device containing an original file and a revision file of the original file, and a delta file that identifies only the changes between the original file and the revision file. The present invention can also be viewed as a method for efficiently transferring files using file differentiation. The method operates by (1) providing an original file; (2) creating a revision file of the original file; and (3) generating a delta file that identifies only the changes between the original file and the revision file.

System and method for file transmission using file differentiation

A decision making control circuit responsive to a digital data stream. A control output is provided in response to detection of a predetermined number of successive digital words in the data stream representing numbers having a magnitude greater than a threshold magnitude. Central control system for dictation

A cassette substitution apparatus for use with a cassette central dictation recording system. Messages are recorded on interchangeable record members such as conventional tape cassettes. Apparatus is provided for detecting a condition of only a predetermined amount of recording time remaining on a cassette. Substitution of a second cassette for the first cassette then takes place a predetermined amount of time after detection of this condition independently of whether the dictator attempts to operate the recorder subsequent to detection of the predetermined amount of remaining tape.

A central dictation system for recording dictation or other messages. The messages are recorded on interchangeable record members such as conventional recording tape cassettes, and the present system is operable to substitute a new cassette for a cassette containing one or more recorded messages, either upon receipt of a signal indicating termination of message recording or upon the occurrence of certain other events. A signal is provided when only a predetermined amount of recording time remains on a cassette, notifying the user that substitution of a new cassette will occur after a predetermined amount of time elapses. Another signal is provided during the cassette substitution cycle to prevent message dictation until the new cassette is positioned to receive dictation. The cassette central dictation system of the present invention is usable in combination with one or more dictate stations and in conjunction with a system including another central message recording apparatus, and circuitry is provided to enable priority selection of the cassette central dictation system.

A recording system including a recording apparatus, a time delay device wherein analog signals are converted into digital signals and wherein said digital signals are delayed for an interval of time to provide delayed digital signals which are recorded by said recording apparatus or which are converted into delayed analog signals that are then recorded by said recording apparatus, and means responsive to said analog signal or means responsive to said digital signal for causing the recording apparatus to be placed in a recording mode of operation prior to the end of said interval of time.
