A system which provides closed loop insulin administration is disclosed. The system includes redundant glucose sensors which may be interleaved in order to provide monitoring when one of the glucose sensors is in a settling period. The system may include a disease management unit which includes both a glucose sensor and an insulin pump. A closed loop disease management system which bases insulin administration on accurate glucose measurements may improve a patient's quality of life.

Method of operating redundant staggered disease management systems

A minimal action, invasive blood constituent device can streamline the process for the self-monitoring of blood-related tests by holding and facilitating the use of some or all of the tools for obtaining and testing a blood sample. The device can include a slider, that when pumped, causes the device to spring-load a lancet and eject a testing strip. The device can include a trigger that, when pressed, activates the lancet by unloading the spring. A strip-lancet apparatus can combine the roles of two disposable products—a testing strip and a lancing needle—into an apparatus that can be configured for piercing the testing site as well as receiving the blood sample. A testing strip apparatus can facilitate the use and/or disposal of testing strips. A lancet apparatus can facilitate the use and/or disposal of lancets.

Various spirometer-inhaler systems and devices are disclosed. The spirometer-inhaler system may estimate physiological parameters of a user based on the user's inhaled and/or exhaled breaths received by the spirometer-inhaler device. The spirometer-inhaler device may comprise one or more flow paths. A first flow path may direct medication from a medicine canister to an opening of the device. A second flow path may direct a user's exhaled breath from the opening of the device to one or more flow measurement devices.

A charging device for charging an electronic device can include a main body having a recess. First and second electrical cables can be disposed in the recess when in retracted positions, and the first and second electrical cables can extend outside of the main body when in extended positions. The charging device can have a cover that is movable between a closed position, which can cover the recess, and an open position, which can expose the recess to enable the electrical cables to move between the retracted and extended positions. The charging device can include a battery. Electrical power can be received via the second electrical cable for charging the battery. Electrical power can be output from the battery via the first electrical cable to charge an electronic device.
