An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention may comprise: a display; a memory; and a processor operatively connected to the display and the memory, wherein the processor is configured to: detect occurrence of a function mapping event while an application screen is displayed; identify at least one object for detection of a designated event among at least one object displayed on the application screen; receive an input for selection of one of the identified at least one object; and map and store a function of the object, selected on the basis of the input, to a trigger event.
