A bicycle derailleur includes a base member mountable to a bicycle frame and a cage assembly moveably coupled to the base member. One or both of a motor and/or electrical generator system may be coupled to and moveable with the cage assembly. The motor is operable to move the cage assembly. The electrical generator system includes a generator and a generator drive system.

Bicycle derailleur

A bicycle with an electric pedal assist motor capable of driving a chainring independent of cranks includes wheel speed sensors and crank cadence sensors. The wheel speed sensors and the crank cadence sensors measure wheel speed and crank cadence, respectively, and provide the measured wheel speed and crank cadence to controller of the bicycle. The controller activates motor overdrive based on the measured wheel speed and/or the measured crank cadence.

Bicycle control system

An electronic component for a bicycle includes a communication interface and a processor in communication with the communication interface. The processor is configured to identify a first power on time. The first power on time identifies a time at which the electronic component was powered on by a power source of the bicycle. The processor is configured to listen for one or more messages after the electronic component is powered on and receive, via the communication interface, a message of the one or more messages. The received message is from another electronic component of the bicycle and identifies a second power on time. The second power on time is for the other electronic component. The processor is configured to compare the second power on time to the first power on time and initiate, based on the comparison, pairing of the other electronic component with the electronic component.

Power on pairing for electronic components of a bicycle

A bicycle derailleur includes a base member mountable to a bicycle frame and a cage assembly moveably coupled to the base member. One or both of a motor and/or electrical generator system may be coupled to and moveable with the cage assembly. The motor is operable to move the cage assembly. The electrical generator system includes a generator and a generator drive system. An energy storage device, spaced apart from the cage assembly, may be connected to the electrical generator system and/or motor with a flexible electrical conductor.

A seat post assembly includes a seat post that is electrically adjustable in height. The adjustability may be based on one or more pressures sensed by one or more sensors within the seat post assembly, respectively. The disclosed seat post assembly includes an electronics module. The electronics module may be carried under the seat or saddle and may include a pressure sensor or pressure sensor circuitry.

Seat post control system

A seat post assembly includes a first tube moveable along an axis between a first position and a second position and a second tube telescopically moveable along the axis relative to the first tube between a retracted position and an extended position. A positioning assembly configured to adjustably position the second tube relative to the first tube. An electric actuator is adapted to be automatically electrically connected to a power source when the first tube is moved from the first position to the second position, and automatically electrically disconnected from the power source when the first tube is moved from the second position to the first position. The electric actuator is movable to actuate the positioning assembly in response to an electrical current adapted to be transmitted from the power source when the first tube is in the first position to adjustably position the second tube relative to the first tube.

An e-bike interface is a hybrid wired/wireless e-bike control system that integrates wireless bicycle components into operation of an e-bike. The e-bike interface provides a frame-mounted control and display that is wired to, for example, an assist motor and a battery, and provides a wireless communication bridge between wireless bicycle components and corresponding wireless controls located on a handlebar.

A bicycle front shifting system includes operable to transmit a wireless signal, a crank assembly with two crank arms and a pedal on each of the two crank arms. The crank assembly is rotatable about a rotation axis. A front shift unit is coupled to the crank assembly and is rotatable about the rotation axis. The front shift unit includes a chain ring component with a big chain ring and a small chain ring. The small chain ring has a small diameter and the big chain ring has a big diameter that is larger than the small diameter. A shift mechanism is coupled to and rotatable with the chain ring component about the rotation axis. The shift mechanism is configured to receive the wireless signal from the shifter and to shift a chain between the big chain ring and the small chain ring according to the wireless signal.

Bicycle gear shifting system

An electronic control device may be configured to be integrated, or coupled, with a bicycle to control bicycle components. The electronic control device may wirelessly control bicycle components to trigger an action when actuated. The electronic control device may be dimensioned to have a mating surface contoured to matingly engage with a mounting surface of a bicycle, such as on a handlebar. The electronic control device may also be dimensioned to have a compact and/or concealed appearance aided by a low profile relative to the bicycle mounting surface selected for the control device.

Bicycle electronic control device and system

A method for controlling electronic shifting of a bicycle includes identifying, by a processor, a torque at a crank arm of the bicycle. The processor compares the identified torque or a parameter based on the identified torque to a predetermined band. The predetermined band has an upper limit and a lower limit. The processor determines a target cadence based on the comparison. The processor determines a cadence band based on the determined target cadence. The method also includes controlling the electronic shifting of the bicycle based on the determined cadence band. The controlling of the electronic shifting of the bicycle includes actuating a motor of a derailleur of the bicycle for the electronic shifting of the bicycle when a cadence of the bicycle is outside of the determined cadence band.

A method for controlling electronic shifting of a bicycle includes identifying, by a processor, sensor data. The sensor data identifies a state of the bicycle. The processor determines a rider engagement status based on the identified sensor data. The processor determines a target cadence based on the determined rider engagement status. The processor determines a cadence band based on the determined target cadence. The electronic shifting of the bicycle is controlled based on the determined cadence band. The controlling of the electronic shifting of the bicycle includes actuating a motor of the bicycle for electronic shifting of the bicycle when a cadence of the bicycle is outside of the determined cadence band.

A method for controlling electronic shifting of a bicycle includes identifying, by a processor, a gear shift command. The processor adjusts a cadence band based on the identified gear shift command. The cadence band includes an upper cadence limit and a lower cadence limit. Adjusting the cadence band includes increasing the upper cadence limit, decreasing the lower cadence limit, or increasing the upper cadence limit and decreasing the lower cadence limit. The electronic shifting of the bicycle is controlled based on the adjusted cadence band.
