An ethylene oxide (EO) production process comprising (a) introducing a first reactant mixture (CH, CH, O) to a first reactor to produce a first effluent stream (CH, CH, O), wherein the mole fraction of ethylene in first effluent stream is greater than in first reactant mixture; wherein the first reactant mixture is characterized by a molar ratio of ethylene to ethane of ≥1.3; (b) introducing the first effluent stream to a second reactor to produce a second effluent stream (EO, CH, CH, O); (c) separating the second effluent stream into an EO product stream (EO) and recycle stream (CH, CH, O); wherein ethylene is not separated from recycle stream and/or first effluent stream; and (d) recycling at least a portion of recycle stream to the first reactor, and a portion of recycle stream to the second reactor.

Process for producing ethylene oxide from ethane by oxidative dehydrogenation and epoxidation with low ethane concentration in oxidative dehydrogenation effluent

A catalyst composition, suitable for producing ethylene and other Chydrocarbons, from methane. The composition comprises a blended product of two distinct catalyst components, blended at such synergistic proportions that results in a catalyst having high ethylene selectivity while maintaining low ethyne selectivity and sufficient catalytic activity rate. The invention further provides a method for preparing such a catalyst composition and a process for producing ethylene and other Chydrocarbons, using such a catalyst composition.

A mixed oxide catalyst for the oxidative coupling of methane can include a catalyst with the formula ABCDO, wherein: element A is selected from alkaline earth metals; elements B and C are selected from rare earth metals, and wherein elements B and C are different rare earth metals; the oxide of at least one of A, B, C, and D has basic properties; the oxide of at least one of A, B, C, and D has redox properties; and elements A, B, C, and D are selected to create a synergistic effect whereby the catalytic material provides a methane conversion of greater than or equal to 15% and a Cselectivity of greater than or equal to 70%. Systems and methods can include contacting the catalyst with methane and oxygen and purifying or collecting Cproducts.

Ignition of oxidative coupling of methane while reducing ratio of methane to oxygen

A method of autothermal oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) utilizes introducing a methane-containing feedstock and an oxygen-gas-containing feedstock into a reactor () as a flowing mixture () with a space time of 500 ms or less. The reactor () contains a catalyst bed () of an OCM catalyst that contacts the flowing mixture and wherein the catalyst bed () has a heat Peclet number (Pe) of from 5 or less, a mass Peclet number (Pe) of from 5 or more, and a transverse Peclet number (P) of from 1 or less while contacting the flowing mixture. The methane and oxygen of the feedstocks are allowed to react within the reactor () to form methane oxidative coupling reaction products. A reactor () for carrying out the OCM reaction is also disclosed.
