Embodiments include a method that includes receiving, by a first device, a first synchronization beacon frame over a first communication channel, wherein the first device is configured to receive synchronization beacon frames over the first communication channel and a second communication channel; indicating, by the first device, that the first synchronization beacon frame received over the first communication channel is not to be considered while determining a state of the first device; and indicating, by the first device, that any synchronization beacon frame received over the second communication channel is to be considered while determining the state of the first device.

Method and apparatus for preventing cluster fragmentation in a neighbor awareness networking (NAN) system

A method includes receiving, via a first communication interface of a first station, a probe request signal transmitted by a second station, and determining, at the first station, a connectivity type to be used in establishing a wireless communication link between the first and second stations. The determined connectivity type is associated with a different, second communication interface of the first station. The method also includes generating, at the first station, a probe response signal, at least in part by generating a first field within the probe response signal. The first field specifies an address of the second communication interface. The method also includes transmitting, via the first communication interface, the probe response signal to the second station. The address of the second communication interface specified in the first field is useable by the second station to establish the wireless communication link between the first and second stations.

Efficient transition from discovery to link establishment

A method in a communication device includes receiving from a station a request to enter a power save mode, and in response to receiving the request, enabling a set of services. The set of services includes buffering of data intended for the station. The method also includes, after enabling the set of services, receiving from the station an indicator that the station is awake, and in response to receiving the indicator, disabling the set of services. The method also includes, after disabling the set of services, receiving from the station an indicator that the station is no longer awake, in response to receiving the indicator, again enabling the set of services. The method also includes, after again enabling the set of services, receiving from the station a request to exit the power save mode, and in response to receiving the request, again disabling the set of services.

Power saving with WNM-sleep mode

The present disclosure describes techniques for establishing and reestablishing tunneled direct link setup (TDLS) sessions. In some aspects a TDLS persistent capable bit is stored at a computing device to indicate whether the computing device is capable of storing persistent group[ information associated with TDLS sessions. Persistent group information is also stored at the computing device to assist the computing device in reestablishing TDLS sessions and directing reestablishment of TDLS sessions.
