A thrust washer is provided. The thrust washer includes an annular base including a radially extending thrust surface, a further radially extending surface on an opposite side of the annular base from the radially extending thrust surface, an outer circumferential surface extending axially from the radially extending thrust surface to the further radially extending surface and an inner circumferential surface extending axially from the radially extending thrust surface to the further radially extending surface. The thrust washer also includes radially extending connectors extending radially outward from the annular base. A motor vehicle drivetrain assembly, a torque converter and a method of connecting a thrust washer to a component are also provided.

A method of forming a damper assembly is provided. The method includes providing springs into an interior space of a spring retainer such that the springs circumferentially contact carrier pins; compressing the springs via the carrier pins into a preloaded orientation; providing tabs in the interior space of the spring retainer such that each of the tabs is between two of the carrier pins; and removing the carrier pins such that the tabs hold the springs in the preloaded orientation. A damper assembly and a torque converter are also provided.

A torque converter is provided. The torque converter includes a front cover, an impeller shell and a turbine axially movable to frictionally engage the impeller shell such that the turbine forms a piston of a lockup clutch. A first pressure chamber is defined axially between the turbine and the impeller shell. The torque converter further includes a reaction plate positioned axially between the front cover and the turbine. A second pressure chamber is defined axially between the reaction plate and the turbine and a third pressure chamber is defined axially between the reaction plate and the front cover. A method of forming a torque converter is also provided.

A torque converter is provided. The torque converter includes a damper assembly and a turbine assembly connected to the damper assembly. The turbine assembly includes an axially movable turbine piston, a spacer plate fixed to the turbine piston and a bias spring. The spacer plate retains the bias spring on the turbine piston with a preload force. A method of forming a torque converter is also provided. The method includes providing a bias spring contacting a front cover side surface of a turbine piston; and fixing a spacer plate to the turbine piston such that the spacer plate holds the bias spring against the front cover side surface of the turbine piston.
