The present application discloses method of controlling plant pathogen(s), e.g. fungal and bacterial pathogens, on a plant, wherein a composition comprisingFCC1256 deposited as ATCC No. PTA-122162 is applied to the plant, in particular to over-ground parts of the plant. The composition may comprise iturin and fengycin in a relative weight ratio of 1.3:1.0 to 3.0:1.0. The application also discloses an agricultural composition comprising the novel strain, a carrier, a surface-active agent and optionally a buffer, and a corresponding concentrate.

FCC1256 compositions and methods of controlling plant pathogens

Methods are provided for the rational design of stable communities of microbes for benefiting the health of a host organism, including human and/or animal health. The methods describe design of microbial consortia based on providing and/or complementing key functionalities lacking or underrepresented in the microbiome of an organism having a disorder or disease as compared to healthy subjects. The consortia are designed to possess metabolic interdependencies for improved engrafting, stability and performance of the consortium. Compositions that include the designed microbial consortia are provided for treatment of disorders/diseases involving chronic inflammation, infection, and the combination of chronic inflammation and infection including inflammatory bowel disease and related disorders. The compositions are also broadly applicable for the treatment of neurological, metabolic and oncology-related conditions.

Compositions are provided that include a new Bacillus thuringiensis strain designated RTI545 for use in benefiting plant growth and controlling plant pests. In particular, the RTI545 strain is useful for controlling plant nematode, insect and fungal pests. The compositions include plant seeds coated with the RTI545 strain. The compositions can be applied alone or in combination with other microbial, biological, or chemical insecticides, fungicides, nematicides, bacteriocides, herbicides, plant extracts, plant growth regulators, or fertilizers. In one example, enhanced growth and insect control are provided by delivering at the time of planting a combination of a chemical insecticide such as bifenthrin and a liquid fertilizer to plants or seeds treated with RTI545.

RTI545 compositions and methods of use for benefiting plant growth and controlling plant pests

The present invention relates to a novel species ofsp. 638, and to its use in connection, for example, with a method for increasing growth in a plant, increasing biomass in a plant, increasing fruit and/or seed productivity in a plant, increasing disease tolerance and/or resistance in a plant, and increasing drought tolerance and/or resistance in a plant, as compared to a control or wild-type plant grown under identical conditions without application of the inventive method or composition. The methods include applying an effective amount of a composition, which includes an isolated culture ofsp. 638, to the plant.

Compositions are provided that include a newstrain designated RTI545 for use in benefiting plant growth and controlling plant pests. In particular, the RTI545 strain is useful for controlling plant nematode, insect and fungal pests. The compositions include plant seeds coated with the RTI545 strain. The compositions can be applied alone or in combination with other microbial, biological, or chemical insecticides, fungicides, nematicides, bacteriocides, herbicides, plant extracts, plant growth regulators, or fertilizers. Compositions and methods are provided for a combination of a new strain ofRTI301 and a new strain ofRTI477, the combination having growth promoting activity and activity against plant pathogens. The compositions containing the RTI301 and RTI477 strains are useful for benefiting plant growth and/or conferring protection against a pathogenic infection when applied to plant roots, seeds, callus tissue, grafts, and cuttings. Synergistic results are observed for the combination of the strains, and the combination of strains is useful to increase yield in crops including soybean and corn. The compositions containing the combination of strains can be applied alone or in combination with other microbial, biological, or chemical insecticides, fungicides, nematicides, bacteriocides, herbicides, plant extracts, plant growth regulators, and fertilizers.
