Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a span pattern for a super slot that corresponds to a transmission time interval over multiple slots. The UE may monitor, within a span that is specified by the span pattern and that extends across a slot boundary in the super slot, physical downlink control channel candidates for downlink control information. Physical downlink control channel monitoring for super slots

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration for a transmission configuration state for receiving downlink channel transmissions from a base station via a configurable surface. The transmission configuration state may indicate a quasi-co-location source associated with transmission via the configurable surface. The UE may receive a downlink channel transmission via the configurable surface based on the transmission configuration state and the quasi-co-location source. The UE may be capable of determining whether the transmission configuration state conflicts with the quasi-co-location source indicated by the transmission configuration state. The UE may transmit an indication to the base station that the configuration for the transmission configuration state conflicts with the quasi-co-location source. The indication may include a beam failure indication or a measurement report. The UE may fall back to a transmission configuration state previously activated at the UE.

Downlink transmission configuration for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces

A method, apparatus, and system for barring at least one UE from communicating with one or more RISs is disclosed. A base station may determine to bar at least one UE from communicating with one or more RISs of a plurality of RISs. The base station may transmit, to the at least one UE, a barring indication for the one or more RISs. The barring indication may identify the one or more RISs with which the at least one UE is barred from communicating. The UE may determine to refrain from communicating with the one or more RISs based on the barring indication. The UE may communicate with the base station based on the determination to refrain from communicating with the one or more RISs.

Contention-free RIS handover via barring

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to transmit, to a base station via a reconfigurable surface at a first transmission occasion, a first reference signal associated with a first reflection matrix configuration used by the reconfigurable surface to reflect signals, the first reflection matrix configuration included within a set of reflection matrix configurations. The UE may then transmit, to the base station via the reconfigurable surface at a second transmission occasion, a second reference signal associated with a second reflection matrix configuration used by the reconfigurable surface to reflect signals, the second reflection matrix configuration included within the set of reflection matrix configurations. The may then communicate with the base station via the reconfigurable surface based on transmitting the first reference signal, the second reference signal, or both.

Techniques for successive tuning using a reconfigurable surface

Aspects are provided which allow a network entity to consider an identity property for received RS during analog combining or aggregation in order to achieve efficient channel sounding and estimation. The network entity may receive an RS in a time period via a plurality of antenna elements. The network entity may combine, in an analog domain, the RS received via each of the antenna elements based at least in part on weights associated with the antenna elements. At least one weight of the weights changes over the time period, and the weights are elements of a time domain orthogonal cover code or a DFT matrix. As a result of these weights, the network entity may estimate multiple combined or individual channels of antenna elements or groups from one or more RS in one or more symbols, potentially improving UE energy efficiency, efficient resource allocation, and coherency between the antenna elements.

Efficient channel sounding through analog aggregation

Various aspects to reduce interferences in presence of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) are provided. In an aspect, a first device perform a first transmission using a first set of beams of the first device in response to an activated RIS for serving a second device to facilitate communication between the first device and the second device not being present. The first device may further perform a second transmission using a second set of beams of the first device in response to the activated RIS being present, the second set of beams being a subset of the first set of beams that excludes one or more beams of the first set of beams.

Beam restriction considerations in presence of a reconfigurable intelligent surface

Some aspects described herein relate to receiving, at a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), a first configuration having a time interval for applying the first configuration to reflect signals from a network node, applying the first configuration to multiple antenna elements on the RIS for the time interval, and applying, based on expiration of the time interval, a second configuration, that is different from the first configuration, to the multiple antenna elements on the RIS. Other aspects relate to prioritizing configurations. Additional aspects relate to transmitting a default configuration and/or dynamic configuration to the RIS.

Techniques for configuring reconfigurable intelligent surfaces in wireless communications

Aspects of the disclosure relate to techniques for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction based on a tone reservation (TR) algorithm. For a TR algorithm, a suitable subset of tones from among a full set of tones in a given resource allocation are reserved for use as peak reduction tones (PRT). An apparatus such as a transmission/reception point receives a set of one or more PRT sequences and stores them in memory. The transmission/reception point then determines a set of PRTs based on one or more later-received PRT sequence selection parameters. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Dynamic peak reduction tone allocation with low overhead

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station via a reconfigurable surface, a set of reference signals reflected by the reconfigurable surface using a set of precoder configurations. In some aspects, the set of reference signals are transmitted within a set of reference signal occasions of a sweep procedure associated with configuring the reconfigurable surface with different precoder configurations of the set of precoder configurations for reflecting signals. The UE may additionally transmit, to the base station via the reconfigurable surface, a feedback message including an indication of at least one precoder configuration of the set of precoder configurations based on receiving the set of reference signals. The UE may then receive, from the base station via the reconfigurable surface, a downlink transmission based on transmitting the feedback message.

Techniques for communicating using a reconfigurable surface

Techniques for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction are described. Wireless devices may provide signaling with respect to one or more PAPR shaping resources. For example, a wireless device may provide signaling of PAPR shaping capability information. PAPR shaping capability information may include information regarding one or more PAPR shaping resources the wireless device has a capability to implement. Additionally or alternatively, a wireless device may provide signaling of PAPR shaping information. PAPR shaping information may include information regarding shaping the signal by a wireless device prior to transmission in a communication link by implementing one or more PAPR shaping resources. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction techniques

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network entity may receive a sounding reference signal (SRS) at a multi-panel system of the network entity, where the multi-panel system includes one or more sounded panels and one or more non-sounded panels. The network entity may estimate a channel to obtain channel state information (CSI) for the one or more sounded panels based at least in part on the SRS. The network entity may estimate CSI for the one or more non-sounded panels based at least in part on the CSI for the one or more sounded panels. The network entity may transmit or receive a communication based at least in part on the CSI for the one or more sounded panels and the CSI for the one or more non-sounded panels. Numerous other aspects are described.

Wireless communication techniques that include techniques for setting power of peak reduction tones are discussed. A UE may receive a signal. The UE may set power associated with at least one peak reduction tone in accordance with a path loss between the UE and a base station. The path loss may be in accordance with the received signal. Techniques for setting power of peak reduction tones

A transmitting device applies a first MCS to a first set of data tones that overlaps with a first set of PRTs within a plurality of tones, the first set of PRTs being associated with a first PAPR reduction signal. The transmitting device applies a second MCS to a second set of data tones that overlaps with a second set of PRTs within the plurality of tones, the second set of PRTs being associated with a second PAPR reduction signal. The transmitting device can transmit a transmission signal comprising the first set of data tones and the second set of data tones, the transmission signal using a waveform based at least in part on the first PAPR reduction signal and the second PAPR reduction signal.

Peak reduction tone allocation techniques

Techniques for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction are described. Wireless devices may use one or more PAPR shaping resources, such as expanded bandwidth and/or pulse-shaping filtering, for shaping a signal to reduce PAPR. For example, expanded bandwidth may be utilized for adding a cyclic affix (CA), such as may comprise a cyclic prefix (CP), cyclic suffix (CS), etc., and combinations thereof, to a frequency domain data signal to provide a CP augmented frequency domain data signal used to generate a reduced PAPR time domain data signal. Additionally or alternatively, pulse-shaping filtering may be applied to a frequency domain signal to provide a pulse-shaped frequency domain data signal used to generate a reduced PAPR time domain data signal.
