Aspects are provided which allow a network entity to consider an identity property for received RS during analog combining or aggregation in order to achieve efficient channel sounding and estimation. The network entity may receive an RS in a time period via a plurality of antenna elements. The network entity may combine, in an analog domain, the RS received via each of the antenna elements based at least in part on weights associated with the antenna elements. At least one weight of the weights changes over the time period, and the weights are elements of a time domain orthogonal cover code or a DFT matrix. As a result of these weights, the network entity may estimate multiple combined or individual channels of antenna elements or groups from one or more RS in one or more symbols, potentially improving UE energy efficiency, efficient resource allocation, and coherency between the antenna elements.

Efficient channel sounding through analog aggregation

Various aspects to reduce interferences in presence of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) are provided. In an aspect, a first device perform a first transmission using a first set of beams of the first device in response to an activated RIS for serving a second device to facilitate communication between the first device and the second device not being present. The first device may further perform a second transmission using a second set of beams of the first device in response to the activated RIS being present, the second set of beams being a subset of the first set of beams that excludes one or more beams of the first set of beams.

Beam restriction considerations in presence of a reconfigurable intelligent surface

Some aspects described herein relate to receiving, at a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), a first configuration having a time interval for applying the first configuration to reflect signals from a network node, applying the first configuration to multiple antenna elements on the RIS for the time interval, and applying, based on expiration of the time interval, a second configuration, that is different from the first configuration, to the multiple antenna elements on the RIS. Other aspects relate to prioritizing configurations. Additional aspects relate to transmitting a default configuration and/or dynamic configuration to the RIS.

Techniques for configuring reconfigurable intelligent surfaces in wireless communications

Aspects of the disclosure relate to techniques for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction based on a tone reservation (TR) algorithm. For a TR algorithm, a suitable subset of tones from among a full set of tones in a given resource allocation are reserved for use as peak reduction tones (PRT). An apparatus such as a transmission/reception point receives a set of one or more PRT sequences and stores them in memory. The transmission/reception point then determines a set of PRTs based on one or more later-received PRT sequence selection parameters. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Dynamic peak reduction tone allocation with low overhead

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station via a reconfigurable surface, a set of reference signals reflected by the reconfigurable surface using a set of precoder configurations. In some aspects, the set of reference signals are transmitted within a set of reference signal occasions of a sweep procedure associated with configuring the reconfigurable surface with different precoder configurations of the set of precoder configurations for reflecting signals. The UE may additionally transmit, to the base station via the reconfigurable surface, a feedback message including an indication of at least one precoder configuration of the set of precoder configurations based on receiving the set of reference signals. The UE may then receive, from the base station via the reconfigurable surface, a downlink transmission based on transmitting the feedback message.

Techniques for communicating using a reconfigurable surface

Techniques for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction are described. Wireless devices may provide signaling with respect to one or more PAPR shaping resources. For example, a wireless device may provide signaling of PAPR shaping capability information. PAPR shaping capability information may include information regarding one or more PAPR shaping resources the wireless device has a capability to implement. Additionally or alternatively, a wireless device may provide signaling of PAPR shaping information. PAPR shaping information may include information regarding shaping the signal by a wireless device prior to transmission in a communication link by implementing one or more PAPR shaping resources. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction techniques

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a network entity may receive a sounding reference signal (SRS) at a multi-panel system of the network entity, where the multi-panel system includes one or more sounded panels and one or more non-sounded panels. The network entity may estimate a channel to obtain channel state information (CSI) for the one or more sounded panels based at least in part on the SRS. The network entity may estimate CSI for the one or more non-sounded panels based at least in part on the CSI for the one or more sounded panels. The network entity may transmit or receive a communication based at least in part on the CSI for the one or more sounded panels and the CSI for the one or more non-sounded panels. Numerous other aspects are described.

Estimation of channel state information for non-sounded panels or subpanels based on sounded panels or subpanels

Wireless communication techniques that include techniques for setting power of peak reduction tones are discussed. A UE may receive a signal. The UE may set power associated with at least one peak reduction tone in accordance with a path loss between the UE and a base station. The path loss may be in accordance with the received signal. Techniques for setting power of peak reduction tones

A transmitting device applies a first MCS to a first set of data tones that overlaps with a first set of PRTs within a plurality of tones, the first set of PRTs being associated with a first PAPR reduction signal. The transmitting device applies a second MCS to a second set of data tones that overlaps with a second set of PRTs within the plurality of tones, the second set of PRTs being associated with a second PAPR reduction signal. The transmitting device can transmit a transmission signal comprising the first set of data tones and the second set of data tones, the transmission signal using a waveform based at least in part on the first PAPR reduction signal and the second PAPR reduction signal.

Peak reduction tone allocation techniques

Techniques for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction are described. Wireless devices may use one or more PAPR shaping resources, such as expanded bandwidth and/or pulse-shaping filtering, for shaping a signal to reduce PAPR. For example, expanded bandwidth may be utilized for adding a cyclic affix (CA), such as may comprise a cyclic prefix (CP), cyclic suffix (CS), etc., and combinations thereof, to a frequency domain data signal to provide a CP augmented frequency domain data signal used to generate a reduced PAPR time domain data signal. Additionally or alternatively, pulse-shaping filtering may be applied to a frequency domain signal to provide a pulse-shaped frequency domain data signal used to generate a reduced PAPR time domain data signal. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Peak to average power ratio (PAPR) reduction with respect to signals of component carriers of a carrier aggregation configuration may be provided using preconfigured or fixed PRT location sequences (e.g., fixing the number and location of PRTs). A device transmitting signals of component carriers of a carrier aggregation configuration may perform PRT magnitude and phase optimization processing with respect to PRTs of a PRT location sequence using techniques, such as may use a signal to clipping noise ratio, tone reservation (SCR-TR) algorithm. Various PRT location sequence configurations, such as PRT sideband location sequence configurations, PRT inband location sequence configurations, etc., may be selected to facilitate reduction of PAPR associated with the data tones of one or more carrier aggregation component carriers, such as to satisfy a PAPR threshold. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Carrier aggregation peak to average power ratio reduction using peak reduction tones

Wireless communications systems and methods related to bandwidth-efficient utilization of peak reduction tone resource are provided. An example method of wireless communications performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station in a first subband, a resource allocation indicating a set of transmission tones comprising a set of first data tones, a set of second data tones and a set of peak reduction tones (PRTs). The resource allocation can indicate the set of first data tones overlaps at least a portion of the set of PRTs at respective locations of a set of PRT locations and the set of second data tones is arranged at a set of data tone locations within a particular bandwidth. The UE can communicate, with the base station in a second subband, a data transmission using an outgoing waveform based at least in part on the resource allocation.

Bandwidth-efficient utilization of peak reduction tone resource

Wireless communication techniques that include techniques for allocating resources for peak reduction tones are discussed. A UE may receive from a base station an indication of one or more frequency resources that are allocated for uplink communication. The UE may also receive from the base station an indication of a subset of the one or more frequency resources allocated for uplink communication that are also allocated for transmission of one or more peak reduction tones. The UE may transmit to the base station at least one peak reduction tone on at least one frequency resource of the subset of the one or more frequency resources. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Resource allocation for peak reduction tones

Aspects relate using peak reduction tones on a supplementary uplink to reduce peak to average power ratio on the supplementary uplink. For example, when a UE elects to switch from a primary carrier (e.g., a 5G NR carrier) to an SUL carrier (e.g., in a limited coverage scenario), the UE may use a defined set of PRTs to transmit data on the SUL carrier. In some examples, PRTs may be used on multiple carriers. For example, a first set of PRTs may be defined for an SUL carrier and a second set of PRTs may be defined for another carrier.
