The health-monitoring system and method comprise a sensory system and a sensory to front-end communication (SFCM) protocol coupled to the sensory system. The health-monitoring system and method include a front-end system coupled to the sensory system and a front-end to back-end communication (FBCM) protocol coupled to the front-end system. The health-monitoring system and method include a back-end system. The SFCM protocol communicates with the front-end system using a first state awareness link and the FBCM protocol communicates with the back-end system using a second state awareness link.

System and method for reliable and scalable health monitoring

A method, system, and a computer-readable medium for pairing a wireless sensor device which is associated with a user to a wireless relay device are disclosed. The method, system, and computer-readable medium comprise providing an identification code that includes a network address within the wireless sensor device. The method, system, and computer-readable medium include utilizing an application within a wireless relay device. The application selects the wireless sensor device by using the corresponding identification code, scans for network addresses, and compares the network address to the scanned network addresses. When the network address matches one of the scanned network addresses, the wireless sensor device is paired to the wireless relay device by the application.

A gas collection apparatus for use by a user includes a housing with an inlet and an outlet to permit a breath sample to flow therethrough. The housing includes a first compartment and a second compartment, a chemo-resistive analysis assembly having a substrate coupled to a sensor array and disposed within the first compartment, the substrate being operably connected to a voltage control unit coupled to the housing to heat the sensor array to a desired temperature, a resistance control unit coupled to the housing to measure resistance in the sensor array, an optical analysis assembly having a light-emitting diode array and a photodiode array coupled to the second compartment, and a processor coupled to the housing and operably connected to the chemo-resistive analysis and optical analysis assemblies.

Gas collection apparatus and method to analyze a human breath sample

A gas-sensing apparatus with a self-powered microheater to reduce power usage and enhance efficiency when determining a presence of one or more gases in an air sample is provided. The gas-sensing apparatus includes a substrate, a sensing layer coupled to the substrate, and a heater element connected to the sensing layer and having at least one sheet. The sheet is made from a homogenous mixture of zinc powder and activated carbon. Oxygen from ambient air interacts with zinc ions in the zinc powder in an exothermic reaction to generate heat energy for use in heating the sensing layer to a desired temperature, thereby permitting the sensing layer at the desired temperature to detect the presence or ratio of the one or more gases in the air sample.

The hard disk controller is configured to transmit a first gate signal, a write clock signal, mode selection data, and first data to be stored on a storage medium, and receive a read clock signal and second data stored on the storage medium. The read/write channel is configured to receive the first gate signal, the write clock signal, the mode selection data, and the first data, transmit the read clock signal, transfer the second data from the storage medium to the hard disk controller based on the mode selection data and the read clock signal, and transfer the first data from the hard disk controller to the storage medium based on the mode selection data and the write clock signal.

A system for tracking the use of medication by a user in real-time generates data pertaining to the medication use including time of consumption and amount of medication available, and transmit the data to a network so the data is readily accessible to at least one party of interest. The system includes a base unit housing affixed to a cover for use with a medication container, the base unit housing having a micro-electro-mechanical system able to detect motion of the cover and determine when the user removes the cover from the medication container, a computing device to generate the medication use data based on information from the micro-electro-mechanical system, and a communication system to transmit the medication use data to a cloud computer via the network, thereby providing the at least one party of interest access to the cloud computer and the medication use data.

System for real-time tracking of medication use by a user

A system for measuring and recording data pertaining to a user's vital signs in response to a single action by the user is provided. The system includes a base unit with a computer system, metallic layers affixed to a first side face and a bottom face of the base unit, an aperture, and a flexible shaft extending from the bottom face of the base, and an extension member pivotably mounted to a second side face of the base unit. The system receives the user's thumb on the metallic layer located on the first side face, index finger between the base unit and the extension member, lips on the bottom face metallic layer and tongue above the flexible shaft to capture the vital signs data and communicate the data to the remote location.
