The present disclosure provides methods and apparatus relating to a 5G or pre-5G communication system for supporting a higher data rate than that of a 4G communication system, such as long term evolution (LTE). A method for processing traffic at a core network entity processes traffic includes transmitting a message for requesting assistance information to at least one base station, receiving the assistance information from the at least one base station, splitting the traffic based on the received assistance information, and transmitting the split traffic through a core network. A core network entity includes a transceiver and a processor configured to control the transceiver to transmit a message for requesting assistance information to at least one base station, receive the assistance information from the at least one base station, split traffic based on the received assistance information, and transmit data through the split traffic.

Thus, the system and method can estimate the volume of the traffic on the network with respect to the aggregated flow defined by the router pair connected to the terminal or the external network when the traffic is actually introduced into the network, instead of the flows of each terminal and each destination.

A hybrid channel assignment method comprising the steps of negotiating among routers to select one router to act as a central server; collecting, at the selected router, information on an entire network transmitted from the other routers, and assigning channels based upon the information on the entire network; and reassigning channels of respective routers based upon dynamically-changing traffic characteristics. The hybrid channel assignment method can assign channels using both centralized processing and distributed processing in order to ensure optimally correct channel assignment consistent with present traffic characteristics. The wake-up time is a point in time when a node transitions to an active state to transmit the data and is present in the second interval.

Method for wireless multi-hop network

An apparatus and method for transmitting data by using Multi-round Contention Avoidance (MrCA) are provided. The method includes initializing a contention window for each of a plurality of contention rounds and setting a backoff counter corresponding to a size of the contention window for each contention round, starting from a first contention round to a last contention round, decrementing a backoff counter of a corresponding contention round in a time slot unit and transmitting data when the decremented backoff counter is zero and when the corresponding contention round is a last contention round. Accordingly, the number of contending nodes is exponentially decreased for each contention round, resulting in significant decrease in a collision probability in addition to improving fairness on channel use among users.

A resource allocation method in a multicarrier communication system where a base station allocates resources to a plurality of mobile stations according to feedback channel information from the mobile stations. The base station receives a resource request message from each mobile station and selects a set of mobile stations offering a maximum system gain without overlapped resources at a specific point in time based on the resource request messages from all mobile stations in the system. The requested resources and then allocated to the selected mobile stations.

An apparatus for displaying network status includes a network traffic collection unit, a network status display unit and a first attack type determination unit. The network traffic collection unit analyzes packets collected from an external communication network, and outputs connection information including a source Internet Protocol (IP) address, a destination IP address and a destination port number. The network status display unit receives the connection information transmitted from the network traffic collection unit for a predetermined period, and displays the connection information in a coordinate point data form on a three-dimensional rectangular coordinate system whose three axes are assigned to a source IP address, a destination IP address and a destination port number, respectively. A call admission control method and apparatus in a mobile communication network including a plurality of cells. In the call admission control apparatus, a receiver receives a call setup request for a call, a first decider decides the type of the call, and a second decider decides whether the call satisfies a predetermined condition corresponding to the call type and admitting the call if the call satisfies the condition. The condition is that an FER, which is predicted for the call admission using a second average and a second standard deviation of received power, is less than or equal to a predetermined target FER, the second average and second standard deviation being estimated using a first average and a first standard deviation of received power for a predetermined time period and an average received power increment and a standard deviation increment that are produced by the call admission.
