A tape player is disclosed, whereby mode plates of the fast forward side and of the reverse side, each having an exclusive driving system and a head plate coupled at least with one of the mode plates and making a forward movement are provided; two electromagnetic plungers are disposed, each of which locks each of the mode plates at a position corresponding to the advanced position of the head plate; a joint plate is disposed rotatably with respect to each of the mode plate; with this joint plate is linked a fast forward and reverse drive plate moving from the central play position toward the left and right fast forward and reverse positions depending on the direction of the rotation of the joint plate; and on said head plate is disposed an engaging part with which a part of the fast forward and reverse plate is engaged, when the fast forward and reverse plate is in the central play position and the head plate advances.

Tape player changing mechanism

A tape player includes a fast-forwarding and rewinding mechanism consisting of forward-drive means for setting the tape player in the fast-forwarding mode, reverse-drive means for setting the tape in the rewinding mode and forward-drive and reverse-drive electromagnetic plungers associated with the forward- and reverse-drive means. A channel changing mechanism according to the invention comprises: an off plate reciprocal between its stop mode and play mode positions responsively to a head shift mechanism and responsively to one of the electromagnetic plungers; a drive gear continuously rotated by a drive motor; a change gear including a tooth train engageable with the drive gear and a cut-off partly breaking the tooth train for interruption of engagement with the drive gear; a change link plate reciprocal responsively to rotation of the change gear for switching a pinch roller and an idler gear between the forward-drive and reverse-drive modes; and a change-off plate resposive to the off plate in the play mode for locking the change gear at a position not engageable with the drive gear.

Channel changing mechanism of a tape player

A fast-forwarding and rewinding levers operating mechanism in a tape recorder comprisig an FF (fast forward) lever element having formed therein a hook-shaped guide recess, a REW (rewinding) lever element superposed on the FF lever element and which has formed therein a hook-shaped recess so positioned in a direction opposite to said guide recess in the FF lever element as to intersect the latter guide recess, an oscillating member located under said FF and REW lever elements and having an oscillating portion provided at the intersection between said two guide recesses, and a transmission means to oscillate said oscillating member for a rotary medium to engage a reel base, said oscillating portion of the oscillating member being oscillated, by pressing said FF or REW lever element, to put said transmission means into action, thus revolving said reel base for FF or REW operation.

Tape recorder

An auto-reverse mechanism intended for use in a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus, comprising a means of changing driving force to reel base, means of detecting stopped rotation of said reel base, means of rotating, in response to the operation of said detection means, a power gear provided with intermittent gear section, means of actuating the driving-force changing means and a change plate under the effect of the rotation of said power gear, claw formed integrally with said change plate and having the effect of a spring, and a control hole in which the claw is fitted, the reaction force developed at said claw when the change plate is actuated being utilized as attractive force to the intermittent gear section for making the power gear engage with the other gears.
