The palladium complex disclosed herein is bis[tri(ortho-tolyl)phosphine] :palladium which is produced by reacting a palladium salt with tri(ortho-tolyl)phosphine and reducing the resultant bis[tri(ortho-tolyl)phosphine] palladium salt with an alcoholic alkali.
