A blade tensioner of a blade tensioner system for a chain that drivingly connects a drive shaft to a driving shaft in an engine, that improves the chain-damping efficiency in a blade tensioner applied to the chain within an engine, prevents the sideways tilt of the blade tensioner during operation, in a blade tensioner applied to the chain in an engine, and provides a blade tensioner with a functionality that allows it to transversely guide a chain along the chain sliding face in a blade shoe, while maintaining the flexural deformability (i.e., the flexibility) of the blade shoe.

Blade tensioner and system for a chain

A collecting exhaust port provided in a cylinder head is comprised of exhaust port sections extending from exhaust valve bores in cylinders , and an exhaust collecting section in which the exhaust port sections are collected. The cylinder head includes a protrusion projecting in an arch shape outside a side wall of a cylinder block . The exhaust collecting section of the collecting exhaust port directly faces an inner surface of a side wall of the protrusion . Water jackets J and J for cooling the protrusion are provided in upper and lower surfaces of the protrusion having the collecting exhaust port defined therein. The water jackets J and J are not provided between the side wall of the protrusion and the exhaust collecting section . Thus, the compact cylinder head having the collecting exhaust port integrally provided therein can be formed, while avoiding the complication of the structure of a core.

Cylinder head structure in multi-cylinder engine

A tensioner device for an engine comprises a support member , a blade shoe coming into sliding contact with a timing chain having a base end section held by a cylinder block and a tip end section supported by the support member , and a leaf spring held by the blade shoe for pressing the blade shoe against the timing chain elastically. The support member is formed integrally with the cylinder block . The tip end section comes into sliding contact with a guide surface formed on the support member to be supported.

Tensioner device

The object of the present invention is to facilitate an appropriate oil supply to the tensioner without a complex apparatus. A valve chamber A is formed in a cylinder head which is connected to a cylinder block . An opening for discharging the oil in the valve chamber A into a chain case which is placed on the side of the cylinder block is formed on a chain case mounting surface . Inside the chain case on the chain case mounting surface of the cylinder block are placed a timing chain and a tensioner for applying tension to the timing chain . An oil dropping rib for guiding the oil discharged through the opening to the tensioner is provided on the chain case mounting surface
