A static magnetic field magnet according to any of embodiments includes: a superconducting coil generating a static magnetic field; and a radiation shield surrounding the superconducting coil. In the static magnetic field magnet, at least a surface on a gradient coil side of the radiation shield includes a peripheral portion that forms multiple concavity and/or convexity. Further, In the static magnetic field magnet, a shape of a cross-section perpendicular to a depth direction of each of the multiple concavity and/or convexity formed by the peripheral portion is polygonal or circular. It is preferable that the peripheral portion is configured to form the multiple concavity and/or convexity in a straight line.

Static magnetic field magnet and MRI apparatus

An X-ray CT apparatus of one embodiment includes an X-ray tube, a first X-ray detector, a rotator, and a second X-ray detector. The X-ray tube generates an X-ray. The first X-ray detector is arranged so as to face the X-ray tube and detects the X-ray that has transmitted through a subject. The rotator supports the X-ray tube and the first X-ray detector in a rotatable manner. The second X-ray detector detects a characteristic X-ray that is generated in accordance with a substance in the subject.

A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes sequence control circuitry and processing circuitry. In CEST imaging the sequence control circuitry performs a first sequence and a second sequence under different saturation pulse conditions. The first sequence is for acquiring first magnetic resonance signals corresponding to a first frequency region of a k-space and second magnetic resonance signals corresponding to a second frequency region of the k-space. The second sequence is for acquiring third magnetic resonance signals corresponding to at least the first frequency region. The processing circuitry assigns the third magnetic resonance signals and the second magnetic resonance signals to a single k-space generated for the second sequence. Frequency including the first frequency region is lower than frequency including the second frequency region.

Magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and imaging-time shortening method

In one embodiment, an MRI system includes at least one magnetic field assembly and at least one image generator. The at least one magnetic field assembly includes an open main magnet configured to generate a main magnetic field for dominantly determining a magnetic resonance frequency, a gradient coil configured to generate a gradient magnetic field, and an RF coil configured to generate a radio frequency magnetic field. The at least one image generator is configured to generate a magnetic resonance image of an object by using the main magnetic field, the gradient magnetic field, and the radio frequency magnetic field generated by the at least one magnetic field assembly. The main magnet is disposed between adjacent examination rooms. The main magnetic field generated by the open main magnet is commonly used in each of the adjacent examination rooms.

According to one embodiment, an arrayed structure includes a cylindrical-shaped conductor layer and a cylindrical-shaped layer stack. The cylindrical-shaped layer stack is arranged on an inner periphery of the conductor layer and a plurality of frequency selective surfaces are arranged in layers and stacked. Each of the frequency selective surfaces has a plurality of elements which are periodically arranged. Each element of the plurality of elements is formed in such a manner that at least a portion of an edge of a first element that faces an adjacent element in the same layer is closer to a center of the first element than another portion of edge.

In one embodiment, an MRI apparatus includes: a current-driven magnet configured to generate a magnetic field that predominantly determine a magnetic resonance frequency; a detector configured to detect a position of an object to be imaged in a movable state in the magnetic field; and control circuitry configured to set an imaging region of the object depending on a motion of the object by controlling a drive current of the current-driven magnet based on the detected position of the object.

A radio frequency coil according to an embodiment is configured to receive a magnetic resonance signal from an examined subject. The radio frequency coil includes an expandable and contractible first element and an expandable and contractible second element. The radio frequency coil has an overlap region where a first loop formed by the first element overlaps with a second loop formed by the second element. The ratio of the area of the overlap region to the area of the region enclosed by the first loop changes in accordance with expansion/contraction of the first element forming the first loop. The first element and the second element include liquid metal in at least a part thereof.

According to one embodiment, a coil element includes an extendable and contractible coil and a capacitor. The capacitor is connected to the coil and has an electrostatic capacity which changes due to a physical change in response to extension or contraction of the coil.

An MRI apparatus according to an embodiment includes a whole body RF coil accommodated in a gantry. The whole body RF coil includes a first element unit used for transmission of a radio frequency magnetic field; and a second element unit used for reception of a magnetic resonance signal produced from a subject having been applied with the radio frequency magnetic field. The first element unit is a birdcage-type RF coil having two end rings and a plurality of rungs spaced apart from each other along the circumferential direction of the end rings. The second element unit is a microstrip antenna.
