A glow plug () provided with heater (); tubular main metal shell () with shaft hole (); conductive member () extending in the shaft hole toward a rear end side GK; metal terminal member () with one part () positioned in the shaft hole and another part () protruding from a rear end () of the main metal shell toward the rear end side GK, the terminal member including an enclosing portion () opened toward a front end side GS housing a rear end portion () of the conductive member and having electrical continuity with the rear end portion, the terminal member being disposed in the shaft hole while spaced apart from an inner peripheral surfaceof the main metal shell; and sealing member () made of an insulator and airtightly sealing and insulating between the inner peripheral surface and the terminal member in the shaft hole.

Glow plug and manufacturing method thereof

A non-resonance type knock sensor is provided which comprises a support member having a main body portion in the form of a hollow post and a radially outward flange portion at an axial end of the main body portion, the main body portion having an abutment at an outer circumferential periphery thereof, a piezoelectric element having a hole through which the main body portion extends and placed on the flange portion, a weight having a hole through which the main body portion extends and placed on the piezoelectric element, and an elastic device disposed between the abutment and the weight to produce an elastic force for pressing the weight and the piezoelectric element against the flange portion and thereby fixing the weight and the piezoelectric element to the support member.

Non-resonance type knock sensor

A knock sensor comprises a sensor body having a metallic shell including a cylindrical portion and a flange portion formed at an end of the cylindrical portion, an annular piezoelectric element fitted around the cylindrical portion and an annular weighting member fitted around the cylindrical portion to hold the piezoelectric element between the weighting member and the flange portion, and a resin-molded sensor casing arranged circumferentially around the sensor body. The resin-molded sensor casing includes a weighting portion located nearer to the weighting member than to the piezoelectric element with respect to an axial direction of the cylindrical portion, and at least the weighting portion of the resin-molded sensor casing is made of a resin containing at least one of metal powder and metal oxide powder and has a density of 2.0 g/cm or higher.

Nonresonant type knock sensor

A knocking detecting sensor for detecting knocking generated in an internal combustion engine includes a vibration detecting element, a terminal, a terminal holder, a casing and a sealing member. The vibration detecting element detects vibrations due to knocking. The terminal having a first and a second ends, the first end being connected to the vibration detecting element so as to take out an output therefrom. The terminal holder integrated with the terminal so as to hold it. The casing houses the vibration detecting element and the terminal holder, the casing having a terminal through-hole for externally protruding the second end of the terminal. The sealing member is arranged so as to surround the terminal between said terminal holder and the casing to prevent fluid from leaking into the inside of the casing from the terminal through-hole. Such a sensor structure assures airtightness of the casing and easiness of wiring the detecting element to the terminal.
