In a network of wireless communications apparatuses connected by a plurality of routes, a wireless communications apparatus includes a packet generating unit that generates a packet for each of the plurality of routes in the network; an operating unit that generates power consumption information for each of the routes, the power consumption information indicating power consumption for transmitting the packets; an attaching unit that attaches the power consumption information to the packets; and a transmit unit that transmits the packets to which the power consumption information is attached via the corresponding routes.

Method, apparatus, and system for reducing power consumption in a mesh network

A communication control unit transmits a detection message and receives a reply message with respect to an external device via a communicating unit. A first calculating unit calculates distance to the external device based on time required to receive the reply message. A determining unit determines whether the distance is smaller than a predetermined threshold. When the distance is smaller than the threshold, an establishing unit establishes an encryption invalidated communication with the external device, and a second calculating unit calculates minimum transmission power of a wireless signal to communicate with the external device at the distance.

The broadcast receiving system includes a broadcast receiving unit for receiving a broadcast in the form of either digital or analog signals; an echo canceling unit; and a determining unit for monitoring the amount of residual echoes in the echo canceling unit, determining whether the amount of residual echoes has exceeded a predetermined value, and instructing a storage unit to store the broadcast if the amount of residual echoes is found to have exceeded the predetermined value.

Broadcast receiving system responsive to ambient conditions

A short-range wireless communication device is disclosed that is able to ensure QoS of a communication and reduce power consumption by controlling allocation of a period occupied by the communication and by controlling a communication rate within the period occupied by the communication. The short-range wireless communication device receives or transmits beacons in a beacon period, allocates a communication-occupied interval in a super-frame between two adjacent beacon periods, and carries out a communication in the communication-occupied interval in conformity with a predetermined protocol. The short-range wireless communication device includes a control unit that dynamically sets and changes a communication rate in the communication-occupied interval and a number of slots constituting the communication-occupied interval.
