The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an ethylene&#x22c5;&#x3b1;-olefin&#x22c5;non-conjugated polyene copolymer that has a low permanent compression set at low temperatures, is flexible, and has an excellent balance of rubber elasticity at low temperatures and tensile strength at normal temperatures. This ethylene-based polymer is an ethylene&#x22c5;&#x3b1;-olefin&#x22c5;non-conjugated polyene copolymer that includes units derived from ethylene (A), units derived from an &#x3b1;-olefin (B) containing 4-20 carbon atoms, and units derived from a non-conjugated polyene (C) and satisfies (1)-(4). (1) The molar ratio of (A) to (B) is 40/60-90/10, (2) the contained amount of the units derived from (C) is 0.1-6.0 mol %, (3) ML125&#xb0; C. is 5-100, and (4) the B value is 1.20 or more.

A 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer particle (X) which satisfies the following requirements (X-a), (X-b) and (X-c): (X-a) being composed of a 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer which has a content of a constitutional unit derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene being 30.0 to 99.7% by mol, and a content of a constitutional unit derived from at least one olefin selected from ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms (except for 4-methyl-1-pentene) being 0.3 to 70.0% by mol; (X-b) having, when measured in a cross fractionation chromatograph apparatus (CFC) using an infrared spectrophotometer as a detector part, at least one peak A of an amount of a component eluted present in the range of 100 to 140&#xb0; C., and at least one peak B of an amount of a component eluted present at lower than 100&#xb0; C.; and (X-c) having a meso diad fraction (m) measured byC-NMR falling within the range of 95.0 to 100%.

A 4-methyl-1-pentene polymer having: a unit derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene of 90 to 100% by mol; a unit selected from ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin, other than 4-methyl-1-pentene, having 3 to 20 carbon atoms of 0 to 10% by mol; and the polymer satisfying the following requirements: (a) a meso diad fraction measured byC-NMR within the range of 98 to 100%; (b) a ratio of Z-average molecular weight Mz to weight-average molecular weight Mw measured by GPC within the range of 2.5 to 20; (c) a ratio of weight-average molecular weight Mw to number-average molecular weight Mn measured by GPC within the range of 3.6 to 30; (d) a melt flow rate measured under conditions of 260&#xb0; C. and a 5 kg load (ASTM D1238) within the range of 0.1 to 500 g/10 min; and (e) an amount of a decane-soluble portion at 23&#xb0; C. is 5.0% by mass or less.

The purpose of the present invention is to obtain an ethylene.&#x3b1;-olefin.non-conjugated polyene copolymer that has a low permanent compression set at low temperatures, is flexible, and has an excellent balance of rubber elasticity at low temperatures and tensile strength at normal temperatures. This ethylene-based polymer is an ethylene.&#x3b1;-olefin.non-conjugated polyene copolymer that includes units derived from ethylene (A), units derived from an &#x3b1;-olefin (B) containing 4-20 carbon atoms, and units derived from a non-conjugated polyene (C) and satisfies (1)-(4). (1) The molar ratio of (A) to (B) is 40/60-90/10, (2) the contained amount of the units derived from (C) is 0.1-6.0 mol %, (3) ML125&#xb0; C. is 5-100, and (4) the B value is 1.20 or more.

The invention has an object of providing ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymers having high randomness and a small number of double bonds in the copolymers. The ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymers of the invention are obtained by copolymerizing ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst which includes a bridged metallocene compound (A) represented by the formula [I], and at least one compound (B) selected from organometallic compounds (B-1), organoaluminum oxy compounds (B-2) and compounds (B-3) capable of reacting with the bridged metallocene compound (A) to form an ion pair, and have a specific weight average molecular weight, a specific molecular weight distribution, a specific glass transition point and a specific value B. 

Ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymers and lubricating oils

A process capable of producing an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer having a high molecular weight even under the conditions of a high polymerization temperature is provided. The process for producing an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer includes copolymerizing ethylene and an &#x3b1;-olefin having 3 or more carbon atoms in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst including a crosslinked metallocene compound (A) represented by the following general formula [I] and a cocatalyst component (B). In the general formula [I], Y is selected from a carbon atom, etc., M is a hafnium atom or the like, Rto Rare each selected from a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, etc., Rand Rare each a substituted aryl group or the like, at least one of Rand Ris a substituted aryl group having one or more electron-donating substituents having a Hammett substituent constant &#x3c3; of not more than &#x2212;0.2, Q is selected from a halogen atom, etc., and j is an integer of 1 to 4. 

Process for producing ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer

It is an object of the present invention to provide a modified polyolefin resin adhesive agent which is excellent in adhesiveness to a nonpolar substrate, particularly a poorly adhesive polyolefin substrate to which no surface treatment has been given and to a polar substrate, develops the excellent adhesiveness by drying or thermal compression bonding at relatively low temperature, and exhibits a low tack. That is, the present invention provides the modified polyolefin resin obtained by modifying a polyolefin resin with (A) a polarity imparting agent which is at least one selected from chlorine, unsaturated carboxylic acid, derivatives and anhydrides of unsaturated carboxylic acid and radical polymerizable monomers; and (B) an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer having an unsaturated bond at one end, and use of said modified polyolefin resin as an aqueous resin composition or an organic solvent resin composition.

Modified polyolefin resin and uses thereof

An ethylene-based polymer which is a copolymer obtained from ethylene and a C3 to C10&#x3b1;-olefin and satisfies the following requirements (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) simultaneously provides a blow-molded product and an extrusion-molded product excellent in moldability, mechanical strength and outward appearance. The ethylene-based polymer of the invention is preferably produced by copolymerizing ethylene with a C3 to C10 &#x3b1;-olefin, in the presence of a solid catalyst carrying, on (C) a solid carrier, a mixed transition metal compound consisting of (A1) a group 4 transition metal compound containing a specific salicyl aldimine ligand and (A2) a group 4 transition metal compound containing a specific cyclopentadienyl ligand and (B) at least one compound selected from (b-1) an organometallic compound, (b-2) an organoaluminum oxy compound, and (b-3) a compound reacting with the transition metal compound to form an ion pair.

Polyolefin macromonomer, graft polymer obtained from the polyolefin macromonomer, and use thereof

Disclosed is a process for preparing a solid titanium catalyst component, comprising the steps of (I) contacting a liquid magnesium compound with a liquid titanium compound to precipitate a solid in the contact liquid (&bgr;), and adding an electron donor (d-i) selected from the group consisting of a polycarboxylic ester and a polyether compound to the contact liquid (&bgr;) during the time from beginning to end of the solid precipitation, to form a solid product (&agr;); and (II) contacting the solid product (&agr;) obtained after completion of the solid precipitation with an electron donor (d-ii) selected from the group consisting of a polycarboxylic ester and a polyether compound, to prepare a solid titanium catalyst component. According to the process, a solid titanium catalyst component capable of polymerizing an olefin with high activity and capable of preparing an olefin polymer of high stereoregularity can be prepared. Also disclosed are an olefin polymerization catalyst containing a solid titanium catalyst component obtained by the above process and an olefin polymerization process using the olefin polymerization catalyst.
