An image reading device includes a lens array including lenses arranged in a main scanning direction and forming an erect unmagnified optical system to converge light from a reading target, a holder holding the lens array, a light receiver to receive the light converged by the lenses, and slit units. Each slit unit includes three or more light shielding plates each separating an optical path of one lens from an optical path of another lens between the lens array and the light receiver, and side plates disposed on two sides of the light shielding plates in a direction intersecting the main scanning direction and connecting two adjacent light shielding plates. The slit units are arranged in the main scanning direction, and each two adjacent slit units are arranged with a space therebetween for one optical path of one lens.

Image reading device

Even in a case in which a comb-teeth shape is provided at an end portion of a cover covering an opening in a magnetic shield case that accommodates a magnetic sensor, the present disclosure obtains a magnetic sensor device and a housing therefor capable of maintaining the strength of a comb-teeth portion. The magnetic sensor device and the housing therefor include: a comb-teeth portion in which protrusions are formed in the shape of comb teeth along an intersecting direction intersecting a conveying direction, the comb-teeth portion being formed at an end portion of a cover with respect to the conveying direction, the cover covering an opening in a magnetic shield case that accommodates a magnetic sensor; and support members formed on a lateral face of the magnetic shield case, the support members supporting the protrusions on the side opposite to the conveying path.

Housing and magnetic sensor device

A magnetic sensor device includes a magnet to form a magnetic field in a conveyance path of a detection target, a magnetoresistance effect element to output a change in the magnetic field as a change in a resistance value, a casing to enclose or hold the magnet and the magnetoresistance effect element, a cover to cover the magnetoresistance effect element and form a conveyance path surface that is a surface along the conveyance path, and a signal amplification board having a signal amplification IC disposed on an intersection surface that intersects the conveyance path surface. The signal amplification IC amplifies the change in the resistance value that is output by the magnetoresistance effect element. The change in the resistance value depends on the change in the magnetic field caused due to conveyance of the detection target on the conveyance path surface.

Magnetic sensor device

A magnetic sensor device () includes a magnetic sensor unit including a magnetoresistive element mounted on a sensor board extending in a longitudinal direction and a magnet () located on a surface of the sensor board opposite to a surface on which the magnetoresistive element is mounted, a housing supporting the magnetic sensor unit, a magnetic shield unit () covering side surfaces and a bottom surface of the housing, and a cover covering an upper portion of the housing. The magnetic shield unit () has an opening () facing in Z-axis direction from the magnetoresistive element toward a transport path of a sensing target. The opening () is defined by two long sides in the longitudinal direction and two short sides in a lateral direction. The two long sides of the magnetic shield unit () are nearer to the sensing target in Z-axis direction than the two short sides.

A magnetic sensor device includes: a magnetic circuit for forming a magnetic field, a magnetoresistance effect element, and a heat dissipater. The magnetoresistance effect element outputs changes in the magnetic field as changes in a resistance value, and is arranged on a surface (of a +Z side) of the magnetic circuit at a conveyance path side thereof. The heat dissipater is arranged in close contact with the magnetic circuit at the opposite side thereof (&#x2212;Z side) from the conveyance path.

A magnetic sensor device includes: a magnet; a magnetic-resistance-effect-element mounted substrate on which a magnetic-resistance-effect-element mounted body is mounted on a surface thereof opposite to a surface thereof facing the magnet, the magnetic-resistance-effect-element mounted body extending in the longitudinal direction of the magnet; a case that accommodates or retains the magnet and the magnetic-resistance-effect-element mounted substrate; and a magnetic shield that covers the case except for the surface of the magnetic-resistance-effect-element mounted substrate on which is mounted the magnetic-resistance-effect-element mounted body. The magnetic shield covers the case at a position corresponding to the surface of the magnetic-resistance-effect-element mounted substrate facing the magnet, or from the position corresponding to the surface of the magnetic-resistance-effect-element mounted substrate facing the magnet to a side of the case opposite to the magnet.

Magnetic reading sensor

A magnetic sensor device that includes: a bar-shaped magnet; a soft magnetic carrier that is arranged parallel to magnet along the longitudinal direction of magnet, that has a magnetoresistive effect element on a surface thereof opposite to a surface facing magnet, and that extends across the lateral length of magnet; and a guide that has a bottom interposed between magnet and carrier and a side wall standing upright from the bottom along a side of magnet contacting a surface of magnet facing carrier, the bottom and the side wall being formed of a nonmagnetic body contacting magnet and extending in the longitudinal direction of magnet. The magnet is attracted to and held by the carrier, with the guide interposed therebetween, due to the magnetic attractive force between the magnet and the carrier.

A magnetic sensor device includes: a magnet; yokes arranged on the magnet; and a magnetoresistance effect element to which is applied a leakage magnetic field emitted from the yokes to an exterior thereof. A detection region of the magnetoresistance effect element is at the side opposite to the magnet. The magnetoresistance effect element detects a change of a bias magnetic field of the magnetoresistance effect element that occurs when the object to be detected including the hard magnetic material passes through the detection region. The magnetic sensor device can accurately detect an object to be detected using a hard magnetic material.

An image reader configured to read an image of an object-to-be-read includes: a board, a line sensor assembly including a plurality of photosensitive elements formed on one surface of the board along a main scanning direction, a lens array assembly including a plurality of lenses arrayed along the main scanning direction, and configured to focus the reflected light onto the line sensor assembly, a light shield configured to support a portion of the lens array assembly at the line-sensor-assembly side or to be in contact with the portion of the lens array assembly at the line-sensor-assembly side, and to block light other than the light focused by the lens array assembly, and a transparent member made of transparent material, formed with a retainer space where the lens array assembly and the light shield are retained, and covering a portion of the lens array assembly at the object-to-be-read side and the light shield.
