A passive seat belt system for an automotive vehicle has a webbing which takes a passenger restraining position or a passenger releasing position. Impact detecting means is provided to detect impact applied to the vehicle. Door state change detecting means is provided to detect change in closing and opening states of a vehicle door. When the change is detected, signal output regulating means selectively outputs closing and opening signals for a predetermined time. Additionally, the signal output regulating means is adapted to prohibit the closing and opening signals from being output when the impact signal is output from the impact detecting means. Webbing driving means is provided to move the webbing to the passenger restraining and releasing positions respectively in response to the closing and opening signals output from the signal output regulating means. The system allows vehicle escape in an emergency, if the door is opened.

Passive seat belt system for vehicle

An automatic lighting system comprises a bypass circuit bypassing a manual lighting switch. During operation in an automatic lighting mode, headlamps and a clearance lamp of the automobile automatically turn on when the engine operation becomes stable upon completion of start-up operation. The stability in operation of the bypass circuit in the automatic lighting mode is increased by the provision of a delay circuit via which a voltage appearing at an alternator driven by the engine is applied to a base of a transistor that is used to close and open the bypass circuit. Closing a cranking motor switch to activate a cranking motor causes the bypass circuit to be inoperable so that the headlamps and clearance lamp will not turn on during engine cranking.

A passive seat belt system for controllably restraining a passenger in an automotive vehicle in response to the opening and closing states of a vehicle door. The passive seat belt system is comprised of a seat belt which selectively takes a passenger releasing position at which the passenger is released from restraint and a passenger restraining position at which the passenger is restrained. A door switch is provided to output first and second signals when a vehicle door is in opening and closing states, respectively. A control circuit is electrically connected to the door switch and arranged to output a third signal in response to the first signal. A driving device is electrically connected to the control circuit and arranged to drive the seat belt in the direction of the passenger releasing position when being supplied with the third signal from the control circuit. Additionally, an interrupting circuit is electrically connected between a line connecting the door switch and the control circuit and another line connecting the control circuit and the driving device. The interrupting circuit is arranged to prevent the third signal from being supplied from the control circuit to the driving device when the first signal is output from the door switch, thereby preventing the seat belt from being driven to the passenger releasing position even under malfunction of the control circuit to output the third signal.

Passive seat belt system

A control system for a passive seat belt arrangement of an automotive vehicle. A drive motor of the control system is in an electric circuit and adapted to operate the seat belt arrangement to release a vehicle occupant from its restraint upon being supplied with electric current. Electric current supply to the motor is accomplished by closing a handle switch in the electric circuit. The handle switch is adapted to be closed when a door inside handle is operated by a vehicle occupant who intends to open a vehicle door to get off the vehicle, thereby preventing the vehicle occupant from being released from restraint with the seat belt arrangement in case the door is opened contrary to the occupant's will. A speed-sensitive preventing means for preventing the drive motor from being energized when the vehicle is moving.

Control system for vehicular passive seat belt arrangement

A vehicular voltage regulating system is mounted on an automotive vehicle equipped with an on-board electronic control device which is required to operate even when an ignition switch is turned OFF. The electronic control device is adapted to control operation of a passive seat belt arrangement. The voltage regulating system is comprised of detecting means for detecting starting operation for the electronic control device and outputting a first signal. Voltage regulation commanding means is provided to command voltage regulation by outputting a second signal for a predetermined time from a time at which the detecting means outputs the first signal. Additionally, regulating means for regulating a first voltage supplied directly from an on-board battery of the vehicle into a second voltage at a predetermined level and supplying the second voltage to the electronic control device in response to the second signal from the voltage regulation commanding means, thereby making unnecessary so-called stand-by current to the electronic control circuit thus to prevent overdischarging of the battery.

Vehicular voltage regulating system

An automotive antitheft key arrangement for locking and unlocking an automotive vehicular door and for operating an ignition system includes a transmitter, first and second receiving means for receiving an input code signal sent from the transmitter unit, and a discriminator including a comparator which compares the input code signal received by the first or second receiving means with a present code signal. The discriminator produces a first or second comparator output when these signals match each other. In response to the first or second comparator output, electrical power is applied to a door lock mechanism for locking and unlocking the door or a starter motor for causing the engine starting operation. The door lock system further includes means for preventing either the first or second comparator output from being produced in response to turn ON or OFF of a starting switch so that the first comparator output is not produced when the second comparator output is produced, and vice versa.

Automotive antitheft key arrangement

A seat belt system includes a prohibition means for preventing a sliding block connected to one end of a seat belt from moving when the vehicle is rapidly decelerated and confirmation means for confirming the connection between connectors provided in the prohibition means. The confirmation means a connector, 4-pin and a short circuit provided between two pins of the connector so as to be opposite to the detecting switch provided between the other pins of the connector.

Seat belt system

A passive seat belt arrangement for a vehicle occupant in which a seat belt fitted around a given body portion of the vehicle occupant sitting on a corresponding seat of the vehicle is automatically transferred to a release state of the seat belt from the given body portion of the occupant only when the vehicle occupant behaves to try to get off the vehicle. To detect that the vehicle occupant behaves to try to get off the vehicle, the passive seat belt arrangement is provided with a door handle switch for detecting an operation state of a door handle installed on a vehicle door positionally corresponding to the seat and a door switch for detecting an open state of the vehicle door. The seat belt is thus transferred to the release state only when both door handle switch and door switch detect the corresponding states. Consequently, the vehicle occupant's safety against an accident is increased.
