The present invention provides a hair cosmetic composition containing an antibody (a) to hair or a hair extract obtained from egg yolk of poultry immunized with the hair or hair extract, and a polymer emulsion (b). The hair cosmetic composition of the invention can provide excellent properties including softness, moistened feel, and smoothness. In addition, since it is adsorbed only onto a specified part of the hair, stickiness or greasiness of the hair can be prevented. The composition also prevents occurrence of split hairs, and even repair the split hairs. These effects are not lost by repeated ordinary shampooings.

Hair cosmetic composition

A hair care product contains a yolk antibody (a yolk-derived, anti-hair antibody) which has been obtained from an egg of a domestic fowl immunized using, as an antigen, whole human hair, e.g., normal human hair or human hair damaged by permanent waving, dyeing or bleaching, hair particles obtained by grinding constituent tissues of human hair, the keratin protein extracted from the human hair, or a hydrolysate of the keratin protein.

Yolk antibody-containing hair care product

A process for the production of a solubilized protein is disclosed, which is obtained by reducing disulfide bonds in a disulfide bond-containing water-insoluble protein material into mercapto groups and subsequently converting a part or an entire portion thereof into carboxymethyldisulfide groups. In particular, the disclosed process for the production of a solubilized protein which comprises (a) treating a disulfide bond-containing water-insoluble protein material with an aqueous alkaline solution of a reducing agent, and (b) reacting the protein treated by step (a) with thioglycolic acid in the presence of an oxidizing agent under a weakly acidic to a weakly alkaline condition. A process for the production of regenerated protein products, which comprises regenerating disulfide bonds in the solubilized protein, is also disclosed.

Process for producing solubilized protein

A detergent composition comprising (a) 0.1 to 95% by weight of a saccharide nonionic surfactant and (b) 0.01 to 5% by weight of an antibacterial agent. The detergent compositions are outstandingly mild to the skin, exhibiting a high antibacterial effect, without influencing or weakening the cutaneous metabolic and barrier functions of the skin. The detergent compositions can effectively restrain the early occurrence of dandruff after shampooing when used as detergents for the scalp and the hair. They also exhibit high antibacterial effect when used as body detergents.

Liquid detergent composition

A hair care product which comprises a salt of an acylated compound obtained by condensing fatty acids containing at least 40% of branched fatty acids having 20 to 32 carbon atoms with silk protein-derived peptides, which hair care product is effective in imparting a good texture and preventing the hair from damages (split hair, clipped hair, etc.) without giving any tackiness or greasiness.

A hair cosmetic composition comprising a branched fatty acids of the following formula (1), ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a methyl or ethyl group, n is an integer of 4-16, and R.sup.2 is an amino, alkoxy, or glycerol group. A novel hair waving agent comprises as its main ingredient a thioglyceryl alkyl ether or 1-phenyl-2-mercaptoethanol. The agent has low irritativeness and the good capability of wave formation.

Hair waving agent

A hair rinse composition which comprises at least one cationic surface active agent and a decomposition derivative of a keratin material which have been dissolved or dispersed in a suitable solvent. The decomposition derivative is a member selected from hydrolysates of keratin material, alkali salts of decomposition products obtained by oxidation of keratin material, alkali salts of derivatives at a thiol group of decomposition products obtained by reduction of keratin material and a mixture thereof.

Hair rinse composition

This invention discloses a novel odor-removing and deodorizing composition which comprises as its effective component a hydrolysate of keratin material. The hydrolysis of keratin material may be effected by any known methods using acid, alkali or enzyme. The composition according to the invention can be used in any known forms by treating the keratin hydrolysate to be an odor-removing base by usual manners. The composition effectively acts on mercaptan and hydrogen sulfide with which it has been considered difficult to remove their odors and shows little mucous stimulativeness.

A hair setting composition is described which comprises at least one of decomposition products obtained by oxidation of keratin materials and derivatives at a thiol group of decomposition products obtained by reduction of keratin materials, and at least one of alkanolamines and basic amino acids. The member is dissolved in a polar solvent in an amount of 0.01 to 10 wt. % of the composition. The base is contained in a weight ratio to the member of 0.02 to 0.7:1.

Hair setting composition

A shampoo composition is provided which is of the type which comprises a shampoo base containing at least one anionic surface active agent and a decomposition derivative of keratin material. The decomposition derivative is one or more of (1) decomposition products obtained by oxidation of keratin materials and derivatives at a thiol group of decomposition products obtained by reduction of keratin material.
