A system includes an acid gas removal (AGR) system configured to remove an acid gas from an untreated syngas to generate a treated syngas, a hydrogen separation system configured to receive the treated syngas to generate a non-permeate and a permeate, and an expander configured to expand the non-permeate to generate a cooled non-permeate. The AGR system includes a solvent chiller configured to cool a solvent via heat exchange with the cooled non-permeate.

A method of assembling an acid gas component reduction system includes coupling at least one acid removal system in flow communication with at least one first synthetic gas (syngas) stream with at least one acid gas component having a first acid gas component concentration. The method further includes configuring the at least one integral absorber such that substantially continuous service of the at least one integral absorber facilitates producing a second syngas stream having a second acid gas component concentration that is less than the first acid gas component concentration.

A dehydration system is provided. The dehydration system includes an absorber configured to produce a dry gas and a rich solvent from a wet gas and from a pure solvent and a flash drum coupled in flow communication with the absorber for receiving the rich solvent discharged from the absorber. The flash drum is configured to produce flash gas from the rich solvent. The dehydration further includes a reboiler configured to produce a semi-lean solvent from the rich solvent and an inert gas system configured to strip the semi-lean solvent using at least the flash gas to produce the pure solvent.
