Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for requesting a cellular IP address by initiating a call with a modem, establishing data packet network connectivity with the cellular IP address, assigning the cellular IP address to a virtual L2-bridge interface, wherein the virtual L2-bridge interface includes a MAC address, mapping a MAC address of a virtual machine with the MAC address of the virtual L2-bridge interface, detecting a change in the cellular IP address, and updating the virtual L2-bridge interface with a different cellular IP address while maintaining the data packet network connectivity.

Dynamic cellular connectivity between the hypervisors and virtual machines

A virtual machine management service obtains a request to instantiate a virtual machine image (VMI) to implement a virtual network function (VNF). The request specifies a set of processor requirements corresponding to instantiation of the VMI. In response to the request, the service identifies, from a server comprising a set of processor cores, available processor capacity. The service determines, based on the available processor capacity and the set of processor requirements, whether to instantiate the VMI on to a subset of processor cores of the server. Based on this determination, the service instantiates the VMI on to the subset of processor cores to implement the VNF.

Computing resource allocation for virtual network functions

An elastic Internet Protocol (IP) address for hypervisor and virtual router management in a branch environment may be provided. First, an IP address may be assigned to a hypervisor associated with a virtual branch. Next, it may be determined that a virtual machine (VM) has been instantiated at the virtual branch. In response to determining that the VM has been instantiated at the virtual branch, the IP address may then be released. It may next be determined that the VM is in a failed state and then, in response to determining that the VM is in the failed state, the IP address may be reassigned to the hypervisor.

Disclosed are a method, apparatus and system for interworking between H.320 or H.324 and SIP. The method comprises receiving a SIP message indicative of capabilities supported by a first endpoint device and deferring responding to the SIP message. The method further comprises receiving from a second endpoint device an H.320 or H.324 message indicative of the capabilities supported by the second endpoint device in response thereto responding to the SIP message thereby to establish a media communication channel between the first and second endpoint devices based on their respective capabilities.

Interworking between H.320/H.324 and SIP

A method for interworking supplementary call services between different VOIP protocols is provided. The method comprises receiving, during a call between a first end device and a second end device, a first message in a first protocol format for the second end device to transfer the call to a third end device; determining interworking information to interwork the first message to a second message in a second protocol format; generating the second message based on the interworking information, such that the second message initiates the call transfer to the third end device.

Interworking supplementary call services between different communication protocols

In one embodiment, a method includes sending, from an originating gateway device (OGW) to a terminating gateway device (TGW), a setup message for setting up a call on a primary bearer channel (B-channel) of an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN). The OGW interconnects with a first Internet Protocol (IP) video endpoint, and the TGW interconnects with a second IP video endpoint. In response to an alerting message sent from the TGW, the OGW initiates procedures for synchronizing a plurality of secondary B-channels between the OGW and the TGW prior to the call entering into a connect state. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.

Interconnecting IP video endpoints with reduced H.320 call setup time

Negotiation of RSVP reservations prior to the setup of a call, rather than negotiating reservation parameters during the call. RSVP reservation parameters are negotiated prior to ringing a device, rather than after. In some embodiments, this is achieved by including information in the initial call signaling elements. This added information allows negotiation with each device in the proposed data path to determine, prior to ringing the terminating device in the data path, whether each of the devices can support the proposed data link.

Dynamic multi-hop negotiations

In one embodiment, a system includes first and second gateway devices operable to communicate with respective first and second video terminals in accordance with H.323, the first and second gateway devices also being operable to communicate with each other over an H.320 call leg. Responsive to a first message received from the first video terminal that contains a terminal capability in H.245, the first gateway mapping the terminal capability into a non-standard section of an H.221 data stream, and send the data stream to the second gateway device. The second gateway device decoding the terminal capability from the non-standard section, encoding the terminal capability in H.245 in a second message, and sending the second message to the second video terminal. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.

Video flow control and non-standard capability exchange for an H.320 call leg

In accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a logic cell library is built. Within the logic cell library a timing model for a first logic cell is generated. In order to generate the timing model a number of indices which specify input ramp for the first logic cell is selected. Also, a number of indices which specify output load for the first logic cell is selected. Also selected are a minimum value for the input ramp and a maximum value for the input ramp. A maximum output load for the timing model is calculated. This is done by calculating, for every input transition in the logic cell which causes an output transition, an intermediate value to be an output load value which results in the first logic cell producing an output signal to the first logic cell which has the maximum value for the input ramp when an input signal to the logic cell has the minimum value for the input ramp. The maximum output load is chosen to be a minimum of the calculated intermediate values.
