The present disclosure relates to the field of multicast/broadcast transmission of content data. A method embodiment for controlling transmission of a PTM service from a content sourceto a plurality of recipientsin a service area, wherein the service area is arranged at a higher hierarchy level and comprises a plurality of local areas arranged at a lower hierarchy level, comprises receiving location information indicating a location in the service area; determining an input traffic load of the PTM service to be transmitted to the service area; selecting the service area or a subset of one or more of the local areas contained in the service area as a destination area for the PTM service, wherein the selection is based on the received location information and the input traffic load; and controlling transmission of the PTM service to the selected destination area.

Method for controlling PTM service transmission

A method of providing a localized information service using an infrastructure of a cellular communication network is described. It comprises a service source terminal transmitting a network upload message to the cellular communication network, said network upload message comprising a payload part, a reflection entity of said cellular communication network receiving said network upload message, generating one or more reflection messages comprising said payload part, and sending said one or more reflection messages to a group of service destination terminals that stand in a predetermined spatial relationship with said service source terminal.

Localized information service

The present invention relates to a link layer control protocol implementation in a communication system. To improve operative efficiency of the link layer control protocol implementation it is suggested to delay issuance of a retransmission request for a missing data unit during a retransmission delay time period. Therefore, according to the present invention a retransmission request is not issued immediately upon detection of a missing data unit. Therefore, the present invention avoids issuance of false alarm for the missing data unit when it is received during the retransmission delay period.

Link layer control protocol implementation

The invention relates to techniques for handling residual space occurring in packet-based data transmissions, wherein according to one embodiment of a method for controlling a packet-based data transmission, in case an amount of residual space in the packet () is below a predefined threshold value, a last one of one or more sub-headers () in the header () of the packet () is constructed by setting a length indicator (LF) to a value indicating to a receiver that no further sub-header follows.
