An application layer in a device, a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer in the device, and/or a media access control (MAC) layer in the device may determine that wireless communication resources allocated to the device need to be adjusted. The determination may be in response to detecting that a quality of the wireless connection of the device has deteriorated, or it may be based on advance knowledge of information pertaining to an application layer payload in the device. In response to the determination the device may transmit, in a MAC Control Element (MAC CE) to a base station, a request for an adjustment of the allocated wireless communication resources. The adjustment may lead to a temporary boost of resources for a limited period of time or to a persistent update of the allocated wireless communication resources. To allow better scheduling of multiple QoS flows mapped to the same DRB and better selection of data when constructing a MAC Packet Data Unit (PDU), a mapping between QoS flows and LCHs may also be provided to the MAC layer.

Thin, multi-focal plane, augmented reality eyewear are disclosed. An example lens structure includes a two-layer waveguide including a first waveguide and a second waveguide. The two-layer waveguide produces a virtual object based on light from an image source. The two-layer waveguide causes the virtual object to appear at a first virtual object focal plane. The first waveguide propagates more of the light in a first wavelength range than in a second wavelength range. The second waveguide propagates more of the light in the second wavelength range than in the first wavelength range. The first wavelength range is associated with longer wavelengths than the second wavelength range. The lens structure further includes an optical lens to cause the virtual object to appear at a second virtual object focal plane associated with a shorter apparent distance from a user than the first virtual object focal plane.

Various embodiments to enable Spectrum Access System (SAS) controlled interference management are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a memory to store network configuration data and a processing device coupled to the memory. The processing device to generate a protection band based on interference measurements. The protection band is allocated to at least one of the infrastructure node of a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network infrastructure. In this regard, the interference measurements are related to transmissions of data between infrastructure nodes of the LTE network infrastructure. Thereupon, a time slot is determined for the at least one of the infrastructure node based on the protection band. The time slot indicates an allocated time frame to access data in the LTE network infrastructure using a radio frequency in accordance with the protection band.

Internet-of-things swarm management

Technology for improving the selection, transfer, and storage of user equipment (UE) radio capability information is disclosed. A cellular mobile network can be configured to identify radio-access-technology (RAT)-specific radio-capability information relating to RATs supported in the cellular mobile network and communicate the RAT-specific radio-capability information to a UE. The UE can use the RAT-specific radio-capability information to help determine which UE radio capability information to send to the network. In addition, the UE may store a list of supported frequency bands and/or supported frequency-band combinations (LOSB) indexed by network operators and use the list to help determine which UE radio capability information to send to the network. A network node may also selectively remove unnecessary information from UE radio capability information before storing the UE radio capability information at a mobility management entity (MME).

Method for the transfer of radio capability information

This disclosure relates to a method for reducing power consumption of a first device for use in a wireless communication system. The first device receives a signal within a first reference sub-frame of a radio channel. The device determines whether to use the signal for obtaining channel state information to be reported to a second device within a reporting sub-frame, or whether to receive and use a second signal within a second reference sub-frame of the radio channel for obtaining channel state information to be reported to the second device within said predetermined later sub-frame. Based on this determination, the first device reports channel state information obtained based on the signal received within said first reference sub-frame or said second signal within said second reference sub-frame to the second device within said reporting sub-frame.

Machines or networked devices such as internet of things (IoT) devices operate to generate an unlicensed narrowband (U-NB) IoT communication based on time domain multiple carrier aggregation operations with component carriers. These component carriers can comprise a component carrier that is anchored to a long term evolution (LTE) licensed band, or entirely comprise unlicensed carrier components that are unanchored to the LTE component carrier in a standalone configuration. Communication circuitry such as a radio frequency interface can transmit the U-NB IoT communication in standalone communications over a low power IoT network in an unlicensed band.
